It's a decent little magnet for it's size, it can be utilised for all sorts of things but sadly magnet fishing isn't one of them. It's simply too small and weak for the bigger items found when magnet fishing, but the major flaw that dooms it - is the weight. It is so light that even the slightest bit of water current will drag it around, making it virtually useless for actually trying to locate items, and it's impossible to move the magnet around in the water when it is vertical to the rope.The best thing to use this for is retrieving dropped keys in drain covers. It was only a few pounds, but I do not recommend using it for magnet fishing. It's useless for that. Other magnet fishers will laugh at you. Get yourself a magnet that has at least 150KG pulling force, and check the reviews. Personally I'd recommend onlinemagnets.

This was cast into a slow running river 3 times the last time we pulled the rope back the magnet was missing. It didn't come with any instructions advising you to check the screw after each cast into the water. Not worth the money charged. Left I and my 10 year old grandchild very disappointed.

Product is amazing for the size of it and the size of the stuff it pulls out is awesome I really recommend this product if you like abit of fun.
