Great to use for babies weaning from breastfeeding after 1 year old!!!
These are awesome!!! They are so easy to clean (which means A Lot if you have ever tried to clean tommee tippee straw cups!). You have 3 parts: the bottle base, the lid that screws off and has the mouthpiece hard straw part on top of the lid, then the removable firm straw (that sticks down into the thermos). The 2 straw parts are connected by inserting the firm straw into a flexible built on connector on the bottom of the screw on lid. So when you want to clean it, you just pull the firm straw out of the flexible connector and can use a straw cleaner on both sides to get it all the way clean, then you use the straw cleaner and clean the flexible connector from the bottom side of the screw lid and also use the straw cleaner to clean inside the hard straw on the top of the screw lid. Then use a bottle brush to clean inside the bottle. My first son tried the tommee tippee straw cups and one day he nor I could get the liquid out of the straw. I think they wear out rather quickly. Not to mention they were a PAIN to get apart and reassembled. So I found a blue thermos intake in the drink container section at Buy Buy Baby! I did not want a Sippy cup because of the recommendations to avoid the sipping action from doctors (even when you read on Tomme Tippes web site, you can pick up that they have to say that doctors do not recommend sippy cups!!!) So this fit my needs to a T! My son started using this after he was 12 months old (He is 3 now). My daughter who is currently 17 months started drinking cows milk out of her purple thermos intake when she was just over 11 months old. She saw her brother using his and tried it out and after several attempts was able to get the liquid all the way up the straw! My 3 year old son still uses his when we go places in the car. We take my daughters milk (in a little insulated bag) and water in these when we go visit also. The hard straw on top easily closes to prevent spills when not in use. I do warn you, when using these with milk (after they have been closed in the fridge), to twist the screw lid a bit (like you are going to unscrew it all the way) until you feel the pressure release and then screw it back on; otherwise the built up pressure with make the milk overflow out the straw when you open the straw part. I give my kids milk at meals and then put it back in the fridge till the next meal. Something about milk builds up pressure. This does not happen with water. Also during meals sometimes the milk will start creeping up the straw after it has been sitting there a while. All you have to do it twist the screw lid and let off the pressure and the milk drops right back down the straw. I love these and have used them for over 3 years. They hold up extremely well. I highly, highly, greatly recommend. :-) Hope this helps some frustrated sippy straw hunting parents out there!

Best casual water bottle ever ... well, it used to be
I am reviewing all iterations of this Thermos water bottle, including one I bought 2+ years ago (pink), one I bought 1 year ago (green), and one I bought this week (purple). The first two iterations were both absolutely perfect (currently available in pink and green on this page). They were water tight. The combination of the hard plastic and flip open straw made it a perfect non-sports water bottle that I could use in the office, at home, pretty much anywhere. I love the straw because I can take sips of water casually without unscrewing a lid or squirting it into my mouth like I would if I lived in a Gatorade commercial. The straw also flips open easily with a single thumb or finger so you only have to use one hand. Also, I have NEVER experienced that splattering through the vent like other reviewers have commented on. My S.O. and I have both used these water bottles (older versions) for 2-3 years, probably taken TENS OF THOUSANDS of slurps of water with these, and it has happened exactly zero times to us with the older style. Now for the newest version of this water bottle (currently available in blue and purple on this page). This one DOES give me problems with the splashing! It happens when the cold drink is warming up while the spout is closed, then when you try to open it the expanded warmer air causes the water to splort out of the spout. Will also happen on a plane. Beware! They also turned the hinged loop into this idiotic solid loop that sticks out ridiculously far from the bottle and is very unwieldy. I can't imagine any universe in which the solid swoop loop is useful. They changed the into some weird blocked vent that whistles when you drink. Also because of the change in the vent, the sipper no longer snaps into place. It just kinda sits there when you fold it down, making me wary of how water tight it will be if I carry it around in my backpack. The bottle is also very short and squat in comparison to the older versions, so I can't even change out the hideous lid with one of my older ones if I wanted to switch up colors. The older versions I'd give 5 stars. The new one I'm still going to try to use, but it's getting 3 stars. That is why I'm averaging this review to 4. If you can do so, I would recommend picking up one of the older versions without the swoop loop. It's a very solid water bottle and you won't regret it. Have caution with the new version.

Like the small 18 oz size
I've been using this Thermus model for 15+yrs. I have trouble drinking enough water and the small size encourages me to drink more. Fill it up 4 times to get my quota. Thermus now has one (although it's 24 oz) that indicates what number you've fllled, e.g. l, 2, 3 etc. But the 18 oz has been very durable, wash in dishwasher. Like the spout that can put flat; also, the carrying handle is handy if I take it outside. It's been a winner for a long time.

Only cup my son will use
My son is autistic and is picky about cups but he loves these! The blue handle does not look like the pic but looks like the pink cup, which is perfect bc that is what he’s used to. I’m planning to purchase more!

Bought as a replacement, 5/5
Bought this to replace a similar sized one that I broke. It is a great replacement and feels solid, cleans well, and is the right size.
