Just give in and buy the real supplies.
A friend asked me to print a portrait of her dog. Sure, I can do that. But I didn't feel like digging up all my Speedball supplies. I didn't really remember where I stored them, and it was just one print, this kit seemed like a good idea. Even if I messed up a couple, there were extra carving blocks, right?Messed up the first try. Immediately figured out that the carving tools were blunt and clumsy. So I bought a $12 set of Speedball linoleum cutters. Finish carving the print, go to ink the block... And this brayer puts down ink in the middle of the surface as it's taking it OFF on the sides! Streaks everywhere. I try over and over again. Inking this way and that. Nothing helps. Finally, coming up against a deadline for this being a birthday gift, I have to glass vase to ink the block.Carving tools are awful.Brayer is awful. This isn't saving you money buying it as a kit, because the kit is awful.

Carving tool is garbage
Carving tool is garbage. No way to lock blades (which are already dull) into handle. They are supposed to be able to wedge into wooden handle, but they just fall out with the least amount of pressure when carving.

The carving tool is garbage. But the Lino and the roller are nice.
The carving tool is so dull right out of the box that I had to use a ridiculous amount of force to get it to cut anything. I sharpened the tips with my kitchen knife sharpener, and they worked a little better, but not by much. Save yourself the trouble and buy a speedball Lino carving tool right away. You get a ton of Lino and the roller both of which are nice quality so I don’t regret getting it completely

Rubber good, tool not
The rubber mats are great but the tool is very flimsy and I went and bought the speedball one after.

This is not comparable to Speedball!
The brayer was wompy, uneven and rough. I thought it might work but it gouged the paint as I rolled it out making the brayer useless. I didn't even open the carving tools but they looked really cheap. I have professional carving tools so I wasn't that bothered. The carving blanks seemed pretty good but not enough to outweigh the other things so I sent it back.

Good started kit!
Really decent starter kit. The carving blocks are easy to work with. The carving tool is a little tricky to change out the ends.

Terrible
Absolutely terrible. If you have a kit why not have tools that work. You should be disgusted with yourselves as a business to take money for a product that does not work.Zero ..less than zero stars.
