I have an older gate setup and newer remotes were not pairing properly with it. I recalled the original remote looked pretty close to this and for the price thought it was worth a try.It worked perfectly.; The instructions are actually pretty easy... just keep clicking on step 5 until the base unit responds. It took all of 5 minutes or less and I was set.I can't speak to the longevity, but out of the box this little remote did the trick.

I purchased one of these garage door openers for my wife when we moved into our new house. It was easy to set up and works great. I actually liked it so much that I bought one for myself.

I really do need a new garage door but in the meantime I had to deal with a broker clicker remote control. A trip to the local hardware stores was a complete waste of a few hours. Apparently they have everything for garage doors except the little remote that 50% of the rest of us still use every day. There is one "original" online that costs about 1/10 of a new garage door and then there this one. Long story short: bought this one, spent 30 minutes reviewing the settings on my garage door motor and then I pressed a button on the motor and followed the instructions that came with the remote to sync it with the motor. I was able to sync both remotes to my garage opener and now it works great. Will it last like the old one? Probably - everything looks exactly the same. Somebody mentioned using the plastic cover of the original and replace the mechanism. I think that is a bad idea. As similar as they may, the buttons pivot on a protrusion of the exterior so the cover of the remote plays an important role in the exact depression of the buttons.

NOT COMPATIBLE WITH OLDER GENIE DIPSWITCH MODELS AS IT CLAIMS!!!! I purchased these based on listing stating it would be compatible with dipswitch model of Genie garage door. I followed instructions provided with openers and could not make the openers work to open or close garage door. Could not get help even from Genie who does not support their own product anymore! Eventually found different seller on Amazon who gave info that this model is not even compatible.*** Amazon returns then made it a 45 min ordeal on phone to try to get a QR code to return through Kohls instead of going to UPS and having to print label & box up item! It is not worth it to deal with such, go somewhere else & just buy it in person to save yourself the headache!*****

It took a few tries to get it synced but with a few watched you-tube videos, it took no time. Great price, shipped in one day and it actually works. 2 thumbs up!

Both controllers work as expected. Will test the range when I leave in the morning for work. If all still good, there won't be a need to for a follow-up edit. Setup was easy. Just had to set the dip switches, follow the programming instructions and then the garage opened. Pretty simple. If I bought this from the name brand store, it would've cost the same price, but for only one controller.

I was down to one remote that I thought I had lost. I ultimately found the original remote but was motivated to get a spare one in case I actually lost it! My Genie garage door opener is probably 30 years old. The old school Genie garage door openers do not die. This dinosaur opens the garage the same as it did when I first moved into the home. I am so technologically challenged that when I thought I lost my remote was was going to buy a new system to get professionally installed because I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to a) find the proper remote and b) program it. Ultimately i decided that it wouldn't make sense to buy a whole new system and thought I would bite the bullet and get an inexpensive universal remote and try that first. So glad I paid the 16 bucks. I copied the switch settings from my original remote to this replacement, followed the instructs and had it programmed and working within 5 minutes. Yayyyy! Now I have the peace of mind of a spare remote. If you are down to one remote, BUY THIS!!
