Get this one.... soft with a medium stiffness!! Great balance!!!
This is a great brush for newbies and veterans alike. I have been looking for a good soft but medium stuff brush and this was it for me. The HD give it the stiffness I like and the the badger hair works just fine for me. If one of my buddys asked which brush to get I will be recommending this one.

A good, but not great brush
This is a serviceable badger brush. It works fine, but is not as dense as others available at similar price points. It blooms out nicely, and has decent, soft hair. But, the high density label is really not apt. It gets four stars because I do like the handle a lot. It's comfy for my small/medium sized hands. I have the same handled brush in boar, the Semogue 830, and find that I reach for that brush far more often and it's about half the price.

Chose as my first brush--very pleased
**UPDATE 8-2-19: I've been using this for more than four months and I am just as satisfied. No shedding or degrading**This is my first shaving brush and first foray into safety razor shaving. I read so many reviews that my eyes hurt, and I figured I'd buy a decent super badger hair or boars hair brush because I can't justify spending a ton on a $100 silver tip badger hair brush. I read the reviews on this one, however, which claims to be silver tip badger hair, and most buyers seemed satisfied.I was not disappointed. The brush is soft, but firm enough to lather and not seem floppy. It seems plenty dense enough, and it just feels great on my face. I wouldn't want it any softer or firmer than it is.I feel completely happy with it and don't feel like I need to check out more expensive ones. The handle is a bit thick, and of course I don't have anything to compare it to, but that doesn't bother me at all. I wouldn't mind if it had a soft curve to it instead of a straight cylinder (the handle, that is), but again, that doesn't bother me and I am completely happy with the brush in general. It performs great and feels nice. Also, I've been using it for a month and haven't noticed any shedding at all. I think it's a great value. If you're not a shaving snob and want a great brush, I think you'll be happy with this one. You might even like it if you are a snob, but I just wouldn't know! ☺

A wet-shaving newbie guesses correctly
I've only been shaving with a DE razor for 2 months now but am completely sold on the process. For the first month I was still using a no foaming gel from "King-Of-Shaves" that I used for 15 years with my disposable cartilage razor but decided to try my hand at lathering after the first month. My first brush was a $15 pure badger brush. I watched a few videos and picked up face lathering without any problems. At the time I was uncertain as to what the various gradations of badger fur were or for that matter much of anything about shape, knot, backbone, loft, etc.My budget brush was a bit rough on my face although it did its job. I decided that I would, after a bit of research, spring for a higher quality brush. I knew I wanted a softer brush, but since, I was face lathering i would need a brush with a bit of a backbone. Nobody among my acquaintances wet shaves so I combed the blogs and settled on the Semogue 730 HD Deluxe. A wider fan might have been better for face lathering but I didn't want to spend over $100 on what was still at my stage of understanding, somewhat of a guess. I was also fond of the two-tone acrylic handle not just for it looks, but for water resistance. The brush over the past 9 days has been marvelous. It was a bit rough the first 2 days as expected but the tips have split and it is very soft now and I expect it will continue to improve. Compared to my budget brush, it has hardly shed any bristles at all, perhaps 3-4 in total, all in the first 2 days. While the backbone is fairly stiff, the tips are soft and after the first few swirls, I find my self doing more painting than swirling when I build the lather on my face. The brush holds a lot of soap and I can generally get 2 passes out of a single loading of soap. I really couldn't detect anything except the mildest "animal" smell on the first day and none after that. My guess is that with TLC and proper maintenance this is a brush that will give faithful service for at least one lifetime.

... so it stands up well and whips up lather like I didn't even know was possible
This brush is fantastic- very dense so it stands up well and whips up lather like I didn't even know was possible. I like to use my shave mug to build up a lather, and this brush gets it done quickly. Soft feel on the face, splays well and is easy to accurately apply the lather with this. Shedding was a minimum- only a few bristles during the first week and none since (after using for about 2 months now). I would definitely buy this again, but I may never have to if it performs this well- I still probably will though because it's that good!

Great brush for the price.
Great quality brush, comparable in price to some of the other silvertip brushes being sold on Amazon. I have a pure badger, and I have this brush, and this brush will whip the lather a bit thicker than the other brush. The only complaint I have is, this brush does not hold heat very well. I can use hot water to soak the brush, and start lathering up almost right away, and by the time I get the lather worked up, it has cooled off. I would give this five stars, but the fact that the pure badger holds the warmth better prevents me from giving it the full endorsement. Other than that, it is a great quality brush for the price. If you want a silvertip badger brush without dropping a hundred bucks or more, then I would recommend this brush.

This is the best shave brush ever
This is the best shave brush ever. I've been shaving with brush and lather for 30 years. I bought this even though it's expensive, but since I use it daily I figured that it is worth it. I'm totally satisfied. I get a true hot lather better than anything I've had before. Five stars!

Soft and well made
It's light and compact but packs a punch. Easily lathers my soap. The bristles have not splayed at all after many weeks of daily use. I recommend this product!
