SemogueExcelsior 2015 Super Badger Shaving Brush

This brush is OUTSTANDING. Very soft, and extremely well made. As the owner of 9 other brushes from various brands, I would have to say that this is my favorite.

I was needing a new 'Silvertip Badger' brush, and this one looks good, and I was in a hurry, so picked this one. IF it is indeed badger silvertip it is very low grade. The bristles are coarser and stiffer than a 'Best' Grade badger. At the present time I'm using a Bay Rum shaving cream, and it is rather stubborn to work into a lather with this brush, as is my Best grade brush, but the old silvertip whips up a great lather, just sayin'. If you want the soft supple feel of a silvertip shaving brush,this is not for you.Bottom Line: Do my research , so I won't make this mistake again.

Why this is the first rev of this product? No clue? Its prob the best buy for the buck. it has as wooden handle that fits my hands very well. I really like the taper it just seems much easier to hold than others. the silver tip badger hair is super soft! and from a blind fold test i was unable to tell the diff from a $150 silver tip and this $79 one. If your thinking about switching from a boar to a badger.. this is the right move to make. I also heard that this type of brush smells... this one does not. (yes but for the first time only. its animal hair!)Most if not all folk I've spoke to that have a smell problem then i find out they are not drying the brush and they get stored in a dark cabinet with no air moving... of course they are going to smell!The next question i have seen a lot is peoples brushes will not fit in the brush/razor stand. I had also ordered the Colonel Conk Evernice Model 775 Chrome Safety Razor Stand which i must say is also a great deal as well as this brush fits very nicely.For now i will give 5 stars. Will update in a few months to rev the quality of the hair and if any fall out.

Imported from Portugal and in my shave den in New York in five days. A great brush with a great feel. Works up an excellent lather and goes on smooth. Great wooden handle. Easy to grip and works on the face so well. Highly recommended.

Best bang for the buck in a silvertip badger brush. Decent backbone, great performance. This brush and a Semogue 1305 are the dynamic duo.

Great Cruelty free Badger hair brush. I chose this brush as a gift because the badger hairs were collected with out killing the animal which is important to me. The user of the brush loves it and thinks that it is great The only thing is that I bought it from The Original Shaving Co. here on amazon and they do not offer any other shipping choices other then the slowest donkey on the plant method. Took 30 days to get to me ( yes I know it says 21-30 days but I thought they would offer other shipping methods at check out I was wrong) But that was the seller The Original Shaving Co. NOT Semogue. Love the brush!
