Quality beyond price point.
I was expecting basic for the price point, but it exceeded expectations. I have enjoyed the cold-pressed paper for swatching watercolors and have decided to make it my location to document all my different palettes and paint purchases because the paper performs well, the binding with book mark is great and it fits in my purse when shopping for art supplies. It lays flat nicely when painting and feels smooth in my hands. It is a pleasure to add to my supplies.

amazing! thick, warp resistant paper :) very satisfied
i wasn’t actually expecting the paper to be that great quality, especially with some people claiming it doesn’t absorb watercolor well. however it has really nice thick, medium textured sheets, perfect for watercolor and so thick it impressively resists warping! also, i haven’t found any issues with it absorbing watercolor, i think the colors dry quick and look nice and vibrant.

Great journal, nice size
I am really enjoying this. It's not too small and the paper is decent. It's comparable in quality to others of this type--140 lb cold press wood pulp. Perhaps I'd say it's in the Canson XL level of paper. It's hard to find a journal with 140 lb. I also like the color of the color, which I do somewhat consider for my journals. I usually work on hot press, but I find that the surface is mild texture compared to most cold press, so it's nice to draw on. Not too coarse and bumpy. So it's not going to be super smooth if your preference is hot press, but you aren't going to find it a struggle to sketch on. I do portraits, landscapes in mostly watercolor/water soluble and full mixed media in it.I'm actually starting to like cold press for some projects, and it doesn't even really matter much when I'm doing collage, so this makes for a nice mixed media journal, too.In fact, I'd choose this cold press over most of the mixed media journals on the market because the paper often has some terrible coating on it and it's never heavy enough. Of all papers, mixed media should be 300gsm because we use a lot of wet media. This book does the job well.

Phenomenal Watercolour Sketchbook!
First of all this is my absolute favorite watercolor sketchbook of all time ...and I've been a Professional Artist for over 50 years now! Why a few people are claiming that the paper is not Cold Pressed Watercolor Paper is beyond me !?!? ...Perhaps they have no clue as to what watercolor paper is ??? ...All I can say is that this is definitely watercolor paper and very good paper at that! The cover of the book is classy and extremely well made! ...A beautiful book to give as the perfect gift with a set of pencils or paints to any Artist!! The price is also excellent for the quality that you are getting as well...I absolutely love this book and will be purchasing many more of them in the days and months to come!!!

A perfect little sketchbook
I am absolutely delighted with this sketchbook. The heavyweight paper is durable to reworking, doesn’t buckle even with heavy work on each side of the page, takes color readily and has a wonderful, durable outside surface and binding.

Nice little watercolor journal.
The paper is heavy and sturdy, but not as absorbent as I thought it would be. It takes glazing layers very well though. It has a significant texture, which can be a plus or minus, depending on your preferences. It works best with watercolor paint. I didn't like how it took my Inktense watercolor pencils because of the rough-ish texture. Water soluble crayons, such as Gelatos and Neocolor2 did not work very well when applied dry and then wet down. It did, however, work fine with these if they were applied wet. That pesky texture....The paper is thick enough that you could paint on both sides of each page. Buckling and warping is minimal, which I LOVE.The cover of the book is sturdy and covered with a simulated leather, which feels and looks nice. It has an elastic band that will help it stay closed and protect your work when traveling. The band does not get in the way when not in use.Overall, it's a great purchase, provided you use media that is in wet paint form when applied. It doesn't do so well with mixed media or dry-to-wet materials. I'd buy it again now that I know how to use it to its best advantage.

Sturdy and durable
This will be perfect for completing my different watercoloring projects. It’ll be like a record for each new project I wanna store in this journal.

Great for the price
I followed the reviews and found this to be a good little watercolor journal! I am just starting out but i love that i can get nice washes on this. Scratching out sticks, and lifting paint doesn't damage the paper. the paper buckles a little bit if i put too much water, but i'm a beginner with poor water control. This notebook is helping me get better everyday!

Very nice Watercolor Sketch Book
The media could not be loaded. This is a classy sketch book with a hard leatherette cover and 32 double-sided pages, meaning you can paint on both sides. The paper is thick and nicely textured. There is a ribbon bookmark plus an elastic you can use to keep the book closed if needed .
