Grazing Muzzle

Durability Isn’t Great
I like the flexibility and lightness of this product. I don’t use zip ties since the edges can be super sharp and injure another horse if they try to play. My horse goes through ANY grazing muzzle very quickly and since this one is pricey I use a hole punch and soft twine to repair broken pieces and make it last longer.

Works great.
Had to modify to fit donkey halter but works great. Had to feed them a small amount of pellets through hole and they figured it out. Now they can get out of corral in spring and exercise without overeating.

Light weight
It's very light weight and flexible. Great for our pony. She doesn't seem to mind it at all. The zip ties do a great job of keeping it attached to the halter.

Not durable
Muzzle didn’t even last on my horse one night.

Three weeks and hole wearing out
This suited my horse well, and I found it easy to apply to a standard non-adjustable breakaway halter. I was excited. My puffy mare kept it on, and it didn't bother her a bit aside from a rub on her nose where the zip-tie was located.FOR THE MONEY this is a RIPOFF. After three weeks the hole is already enlarging and there's no way to repair this. That means, you get to buy another one at the ridiculous price they're asking. Why can't muzzle manufactures understand that constant rubbing right at the point where the grass must fit through the hole disintegrates the plastic and make that part 3x thicker? Will I buy another one? Sadly, no.

Surprisingly Effective and Safe!
I have been using the older European style Greenguard muzzles with the 'flat' lower piece, as the basket style rub my horses, and the new Greenguard rubs horrible and doesn't fit in the automatic waterers. As my horses learned to get around or broke them, they became harder to find, and I wanted to try something new. I was very skeptical about this style, but it has worked very well! I cut a smaller hole (opened side to side for more ergonomic grazing) and I can tailor the opening easily to each horse's needs, which is great. I was still very skeptical about the zip ties, but when my mare caught the muzzle oddly on the fence, they did exactly what they were supposed to do and broke, leaving the muzzle unscathed. I was honestly shocked that the think plastic material help up with that force, so I have to say that made me a believer.

Wears out quickly
Light weight and horse seems comfortable but he wore the first one out in three months of use.

Jury Is Still Out
It took about an hour to get this setup using a breakaway halter we already had. After all that work, my horse promptly broke the breakaway leather within 30 minutes. Next I tried 1/8" cable ties instead of the breakaway leather but he broke those after a day. I like the pliability of the muzzle but I'm still looking for a solution that my horse won't break but at the same time not putting him in danger.

Best grazing muzzle ever
Transformed our mares life . No more rubs, light and airy and she is happy to go out now and isn’t grumpy when she comes in . We cut the hole a little too big but we are going to purchase another to use when we feel she is getting a bit too much . Cheaper than a vets bills for Lami and a happy healthy pony . Perfect solution . So happy with this

Really good muzzle….except…
Firstly, this muzzle is lovely. It’s flexible, breathable, and I feel like my pony can still eat well without completely pigging out or being overly restricted. It’s fairly easy to fit, requires a bit of tweaking when pony worked out how to eat from the sides… it’s good for their brain too!!!However, I don’t know if this is just mine, or a general flaw- but I attached a photo of a notch in mine. My pony rolled and scraped her face on this. I electrical taped the corners which helped. So if yours comes with this notch, do something with this!

Fits well and my horse finds it much comfier than the black woven ones
Fits well, my horse hasn’t removed it. Does not hide at the back of the stable when u get it out, so must be much comfier to wear! Downside is it’s v expensive for what it is, and doesn’t seem to be particularly sturdy. Only used it a handful of times but hopefully it will last many years!!
