Jinhao 159 Rollerball Pens Medium Point (0.7mm) Gold Trim Heavy Pen, Black Ink, 3 Count

Ordered pens and medium black refills. Pens are big and heavy, perfect for my slightly arthritic hands. They have a high luxury look and feel. Also ordered a set of refills. Good thing. The original fills that came in the pens wrote thin, too thin to be called medium, and scratchy, unpleasant. One of them did not want to write at all. But when I put in the refills everything changed. These refills provide a fantastic writing experience. Easy consistent flow without any effort, absolutely no smudging. Tried to write a line and quickly smear it with tissue paper - no luck. And true medium. Consistent line thickness. No wrist pressure at all. This is the best writing experience I have had, and I have tried them all, from Mont Blanc to Shaeffer on down. For quite some time I believed that the Schneider Gelion 0.7mm gel cartridge provided the very best writing experience. Not anymore.

I have a bunch of these pens. I am very partial to large, heavy pens, and these certainly fit the bill. They are fairly well build and look nice, too. The refills can be a little hit or miss, but they're cheap, so if one skips or runs out of ink too soon, just pop another one in and you're good to go. And the value on these for what you get is outstanding.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the darn lid is constantly falling off. They have a good weight to them and are very smooth and easy to work with. Definitely recommend

I have heard that nobody uses pens anymore, but if anyone out there still does, I recommend this fat, heavy pen. Not everyone likes fat, heavy pens but it is what I was looking for, and I got what I wanted. I bought six of them, because each one only has a life expectancy of ten to fifteen years. They write smoothly and fit comfortably in my hand. I had one when I ordered the six others, and had been using it for about seven years. The original one is still working perfectly, but I wanted the same pen in a variety of colors, so I accomplished that. I would recommend that you be careful not to drop them, because even though I have never done that, and they are solidly made, they are heavy enough that it might dent the pen if you dropped it on a hard surface. I think they are under priced, which is a good thing.

Two of my pens were scratchy because there was little ink in the refills.They were gifts.The seller was great. I asked for refills. He offered to send me refills, but it would take 7 to 24 days. This was a gift, it would not arrive on time.The seller issued a refund.I purchased the 3 Fountain pens from this seller 2 years ago, and they are still working great.These pens are fat and heavy and feel great in your hand.I am going to try purchasing the Rollerball pens again at a later date.A bit disappointed. But I would still recommend them, maybe I got a bad set.I give it 3 stars because the customer service was good and the one that worked, wrote smoothly and looked classy like the Fountain pens I purchased 2 years ago.

I am a notary public so having a great writing tool is a must. LOVE THESE PENS! They have weight, with the right ink refill, it writes very smooth, these are beautiful pens. I bought the black, silver and gold in one order and then bought a red pen with gold trim. I get compliments allll of the time. They look so expensive. Great value.

Great set of pens! If you love the 159 series fountain pen from Jin hao you will love these as the body and cap are exactly the same. The pen is heavy and sturdy and is perfect when you want that fountain pen feel without the worry of damaging your pen when you have to hand it to someone else to use. I love fountain pens but, as an attorney who is in court a lot and has to review and sign documents with clients in court, they can be damaged by folks not familiar with how to write with them. These roller balls are the perfect solution for that issue. I use these pens out and about and save my fountain pens for the office and home. I own many Jin hai pens and I can honestly say that are an absolute steal. The quality is outstanding and they can truly go toe to toe with pens that are far more expensive. I feel that Jin hao is a brand that will increase in price once more folks are turned on to their products.

I love the look and heft of these pens. however, I prefer medium point, so I ordered the stated jinhau spiral refills to switch them out. I've order 2 sets of these, so 6 pens. I couldn't get the cartridge out of any of the 6 pens. the ink barrel would separate from the tip and the tip stayed jammed in the pen. I wanted to love these pens but they're just junk. I'll stick with my cross pens. they're much more expensive, but they don't ever fail me.
