Bought this as a birthday gift for my 92 year old mum as I was struggling with ideas. Mum has severe dementia and doesn't know who she or I am but the impact this book had on her was magical. She always loved film stars and from the second she opened the book I have rarely seen her as chatty and animated. We were able to look at the pictures which are all in colour, and I read who each one was (the names and a couple of lines of their films was below each picture) as she is no longer able to recognise many words. Yes, it's a fairly thin book but the amount of content and layout is perfect for someone like my mum whose attention span isn't big. And cost wise? I see some reviews think it expensive for what it is but I disagree as seeing my mums face light up as we looked at the photos together was for me priceless. This is definitely a great gift for an elderly person with dementia.

This book makes it easy to distract or just keep someone busy for a while. At the same time it encourages people to engage in meaningful activities and conversations with others as they flip through the pages.

Large paperback, lightweight with thick high quality pages. Large images are perfect for older family and friends.This book was a great find. We gave it to my mother-in-law with dementia who lives in a retirement community. During the COVID-19 pandemic while visits are restricted this book and several others we purchased like it have brought my mother in law and our family a lot of happiness.The books sparked great memories of life in the 40’s and 50’s which she’s shared with our family. She has shared it with friends in her community and together recollect fond memories of their youth.Thank you to the publishers...we’d love to see more like this.

A picture, a name and 3 movie titles that they stared in. A few pics of movie posters of that time period. That's it. A little write up on each movie star would have been nice. So over priced.
