First impressions of the MANN Damascus custom knife.1. The box - nice gift box.2. The knife - great full tang blade - arrived oiled and sharp but needs another round of sharpening. Blade is straight - well crafted - good weight distribution - love the design that runs the length of the handle - solid build.3. The handle is G10. If you don’t know what that is just Google it. I like the grip and feel. However, it’s not a large handle so someone with big hands may find their grip a little awkward but this is not supposed to be a big bushcraft knife - it’s smaller and just right for a convenient carry. Nice pin designs and well placed lanyard hole.4. The sheath - Good thickness and durability with strong snaps. This sheath can be warn vertically on the belt or horizontally on the carriers lower back and has 2 size adjustments with the snap straps - great color.5. Price - great price point that is currently at 39.99. I like this knife better than some of the wild blade designs that could be in a Mad Max movie and the price is way less expensive than most Damascus knives.*Overall this appears to be a solid knife. It passes the aesthetic and cosmetic tests however, I did not give this knife a stress test yet - that review will be forthcoming. This is my second purchase of one of these beauties. Got one for my wife. It's a tad slimmer than mine. No matter, still as great. Came real sharp. These things can get really, really sharp. Damascus is very resilient steel. Highly recommend at this price.

Ok first of all I want to say I do really like this knife. It's very nice looking, the mycarta scales look awesome, mosaic pins are colorful and the spine work on the knife is intricate but not too busy. As far as I can tell the only negative is; I can't see how this knife is actually hand hammered Damascus steel and not just a steel blank with a wavy painted patter pressed into it. The acid etch does not show off a pattern on the tang and the etch also conveniently stops where the sharpened bevel starts. If it were true Damascus or patterned steel the wavy pattern would be visible across the entire blade not just parts. I highly doubt the blade was masked in these areas during the acid dip, there's zero reason for that. As well as that, the surface feel is nothing like actual Damascus.. The surface of this blade is textured as if a pattern was "pressed" into it. The sides should be smooth and flat after grinding and sanding. All that being said even though I don't believe the knife is patterned hammered steel, it is well balanced, sturdy, sharp, great looking and did I mention only $39.00 which makes it an absolute steal. The sheath can be worn horizontally in the small of your back or vertically off your hip.. It is comfortable as well.. I sat at my kitchen table and in my lazy boy kicked back and it felt fine.. I will be buying more of these and unfortunalty unless MAAN can convince me otherwise continuing to only give 4 out of 5 stars because of the Damascus shikanery. All in all I would recommend this blade to friends and I hope this review was helpful.

Wanted a knife I can start to my back on my belt but never found one for a good price that I liked. Yes the Damascus is fake but it looks cool and it’s a good knife I can carry and if it gets tore up it won’t hurt me for it was a good price for it Love the sheath design it works good and I would recommend for a good price edc carry fixed blade

The media could not be loaded. video was taken today, knife was used one time in fall, and was put away. all i used it for was splitting small pieces of tinder and to cut my steak, andi out it away. pulled it out the other day and it was rusted badly, little oil, and i tried sharpening it. that's when i realized the metal really don't take an edge, and it's folding over. very soft metal. is it worth $39? maybe if you plan on it being a display piece, but this isn't a daily it even moderate user knife. i will say the sheath seems nice, wood on the knife is good, but the steel, not so much. i picked up a $49 fixed blade from a knife store, used once, and it's in wonderful shape, even out it through a bit more then this one did, so i do think it's possible to get a decent knife for a budget.

My daughter got this for my husband for Father's day, it was also our 1 year wedding anniversary. He loved it!

BE VERY CAREFUL OF THIS BRAND AND THEIR PRODUCTS!!!!DANGEROUS AND THE KNIFE SHEATH IS EXTREMELY POORLY MADE LOOK AT VIDEO AND PICTURES!!!! AND NOW ITS JUST A PAPER WEIGHT!!!!The knife not only slides out a bit to where one could cut themselves. But the whole knife will just slide right out without unbuttoned the sheath. Very poorly made and dangerous

Haven’t had a chance to put it to the test, but with how well it came packaged and how sharp it is out of the box I’m sure it is well made!

....schöne Lederscheide, sieht wertig aus, mäßig scharf und nur drei Sterne weil falsch geschliffen, die Spitze war noch blau verfärbt. hab es trotzdem behalten weil ich einen Nassschleifstein für mein Drechselwerkzeug habe, da arbeite ich nach.

Das Messer wurde für meinen Sohn gekauft, der sehr gerne Stecken, Pfeile, etc. schnitzt. Wir nehmen immer Haselnuss, weil es sich gut bearbeiten lässt, allerdings ist der Stahl viel zu weich, sodass sich bereits Scharten (laut Foto) abzeichnen, wenn man nur kleine Äste damit "abschlägt". Ich habe relativ viel Erfahrung mit Messern, allerdings noch nie so weichen Stahl gesehen. Absolut unbrauchbar. Darum geht das Messer postwendend zurück.
