Let me level with you, my fellow Amazon shoppers. I have now owned two of these things, and I'm getting ready to return the second one as well. The first DUDPOP suffered from sloppily factory- applied adhesive which ran down onto the bubble capsule and disolved the black lines rendering it useless for leveling. The second unit has a MASSIVE bubble in one of the capsules; which defeats the purpose of the bubble is the first place. There is definitely a huge quality control problem here. I am just one person among millions and both of the units I purchased were very defective...It's a shame too. The design has merit, but the implementation is an epic fail. This product IMO gives "Made in USA" a bad name.

This thing is GREAT. I live in a new apartment with metal studs so this magnetic stud finder is fabulous. Best this about it is it is sensitive and visual. You can definitely see when you've found the stud.

If was a different kind of gift for a man

I have an old house with lath in it, so any other stud finder was rendered useless. This worked perfectly and is so simple.
