I've been using ferro rods for a long time and had high hopes for this necklace. Fact of the matter is, the striker and rod don't go together. I worked on the rod for 20 minutes and was unable to get a spark. Not ideal if you are in an emergency situation. Returning it.

High quality ferro rod! Striker is serviceable and sharp but not uncomfortable against the skin. Coupled with the survival paracord necklace that contains waxed jute tinder thread, this is a "sure fire" solution and a great upgrade to an outdoor EDC loadout.

This necklace is awesome! It’s beautiful just to wear and no one even knows what it really is. It came with free gifts, a length of paracord and a carabiner. There was also a lovely little note from the seller. I will be purchasing more of these in the future as gifts.
