iVACPro Dust Collection Remote Control

I'm a fan of the iVac system. I like the way the ecosystem is heading, and their products are great -- easy to use, well manufactured. This is a 'must buy' if you own an iVac Pro Switch. It's as simple as that. And unfortunately, that's also the only problem.While I understand that if you choose to adopt the current sensing, or blast gate accessories to automate your shop, this remote could be seen as redundant -- I don't think that's necessarily the case. There are still plenty of times that I find myself turning my DC on for branches that I have yet to automate. In a way, this remote is sort of protection from having to shell out a ton of money up-front to automate your entire shop.For that reason, this remote feels a bit pricey -- and ultimately something that should have been included in the iVac Pro's box.

Remote seems to work OK but its physical size is much larger than I expected. You won't lose sight of this puppy that's for sure. Occasionally I have had to press the ON button more than once to get the dust collector to start. At first I thought it was the delay built into the iVac switch but after 20 seconds it should have started. Press the ON button again and a couple seconds later it starts. Battery is fresh so that's not the problem. Button seems intermittent or finicky.

This remote works great. But it is a bit bigger than I'd hoped. I was going to give it 5 stars but the clip on it also sucks. Its the only option with the iVac system (which I really like even if its a bit $$$). I'm sure I'll figure out my own clip/carry system but for the price I expected more.The biggest PRO for this remote is that I've dropped it once or twice and haven't been worried about it breaking because it is pretty rugged.For reference my dad's remote is about 1/3 the size for his vac system...and I'm not worried about it breaking if dropped either.

Functions as advertised, but ergonomically difficult to use with one hand. On/off buttons are identified by raised letters in the same yellow color as case which makes it harder to distinguish which is which. There is nothing such as a click, ping, or led light to indicate the control has communicated it's signal to the switch. Functionally, the switch and remote control have performed without fail for several months and I am very pleased with the performance and I recommend it. I hope the manufacturer will eventually color code the on/off switch buttons so they can be more easily distinguished from each other.

It works perfectly! Great range. Heavy duty case. Buttons have good, positive feel. Nice and chunky so it doesn't get lost in a pocket or fall off a belt. Do take a few moments to read the instructions for both the remote and the switch as the dip switches are not delivered "paired". Brilliant addition to my shop.

I'm currently using it to switch the system on and off when running my chopsaw on a random location. It's a bit bigger than I expected, but it does still fit in my pocket. It seems solid.One confusing thing is that every time you press the OFF button, the system shutoff delay timer resets. If you've configured a large delay and are impatient, this can make it seem like the OFF button is broken.

I ordered the iVac controler & an extra remote. Neither remote worked when I got them. Called tech support & was told that they had gotten a bad batch of batteries. Rather than offer to send replacements they told me to buy new batteries. In about a year the "Off" button quit working. The fix was to send it back & it would be replaced, cost $10.00 to send it back.

This remote connected to my Ivac pro control unit right out of the box. I can now start my dust collector from anywhere in my shop.
