Michelle’s Casein Unflavored
I love the no taste of this protein powder. I use in smoothie, coffee, yogurt, soups to add extra protein. It mixes easily, and adds 24 grams of protein with clean ingredients. Highly recommend

Great value and quality
Casein protein is a slow digesting protien compared to whey protein. I am a bodybuilder so I use it at night before sleep. It's great for muscle recovery while your your sleeping since that's when your body is rejuvenating . Casein stays in your body longer because it's slow.

Like drinking a mug of wet sand
This is my first foray into casein, so this may just be the way it is, but I find it really tough to choke down. It isn’t bad tasting, per se, but it’s nearly impossible to make it taste good either. It’s strange stuff. I’ll try a different brand next time to see if there are tastier options. Now wishing I hadn’t ordered 2 for my first order.😢

Seems to be a good source of protein
Good protein. Tastes good , better mixed with milk, banana. This is protein that is utilized slowly so not the type some might want after a hard workout to act quickly.

Budget friendly
I mean you get the dosage - you get value for money and also 3rd party tested so why choose something else unless its a matter of taste of another brand. I like the taste too

Great for cooking/baking
I bought this casein because I heard casein was better to cook with than whey protein powder. I've been making the best protein waffles I've ever made using this powder so it's definitely true. It's not dry and nasty like it is with whey. I really liked the price of this Nutricost protein compared to others and just went with it. It did not disappoint. The recipe for my waffles if you're interested is the following: 40g oats, 1 scoop of this stuff, baking powder, 1tsp vanilla extract, 1 large egg, 70g cottage cheese, some unsweetened, almond milk to get a more liquidy consistency (sorry I didn't measure). Throw everything into a blender or nutribullet and let it mix. For me it made three full waffles that smelled amazing. Eat it with some sugar free syrup and you'll have yourself some delicious body building waffles that tastes like the real thing. I do find that it takes a little longer in the waffle iron than regular waffles so play around with it.On another note, in terms of ingesting this as a shake with just water, it's pretty chalky like any other casein. I would recommend taking regular whey over this if you just make shakes. I know a lot of people will take this before bedtime but IMO it's totally unnecessary as long as you're getting sufficient protein during the day. If you do need protein you can supplement with regular whey which is cheaper and whey in general is a higher quality protein.I would totally recommend this for those looking for a great cooking protein!

Good taste, sound nutritionally, odd texture
I was seeking an alternative to whey protein, and learned that milk's other component, casein, had some merit. Since it digests slower, it is better suited to be at least a partial meal replacement (as opposed to the quick boost of whey). This does taste good, and holds me for hours. I add whole milk, oats, berries, and peanuts to the smoothie. But it doesn't stay smooth.I'm not surprised by the stir-it-in crowd experiencing grittiness. But even with my advanced Vitamix blender, it starts off pretty smooth, then congeals rather quickly. So there is a bit of choking down the 2nd half of it.So minus one star for not working well in smoothies, and minus another star for no ability to try it out in something less than 5 pounds. Unless you see a review here saying it works for your planned use of it, don't take a chance on a giant jug.

A long acting protein.
I like it. If you are an experienced protein drink user you may know about this. All the milk solids taken out of whey protein is in this powder. It has a grittiness you won't find in the smoother whey powders. But for some, texture isn't a turn off, we are after the effects of it rather than esthetics. It keeps me feeling full and feeds you over a longer stretch of time than whey protein. This takes awhile to digest. It helps me cut meals out and not get hungry for quite awhile. It tastes like chocolate. Is it like chocolate powders you had as a kid? No. This isn't that sweet or smooth, not even close. But, it's not meant to be. If what I describe isn't for you, buy the whey. Do your research on casein before buying either way. This is a top brand to me, more for less $.
