Arkray Glucocard Expression 600 Test Strips

I decided to give these strips a try after the price of strips for my preferred meter doubled in the last year. These were a much better price, so I figured if they were a bit less accurate I could live with that. Well, they are just too inconsistent for me to trust one reading.As a result, I take two readings every time I test my blood sugar, which completely negates the cost savings. I would estimate ~60% of the time the two readings are within 10 mg/dL of each other, which is not too unreasonable. And maybe ~25%-30% of the time they are 11-20 mg/dL apart, which is just too much variation. And the other 10%-15% of the time - greater than 20 mg/dL apart. I have had readings as far apart as 35 mg/dL - there's a huge difference between a fasting blood reading of 98 and 133 mg/dL!To be honest, I can't say for sure if it is the strips or my Arkray GLUCOCARD Expression meter which is causing the problem. This meter has never been as consistent (and I assume as accurate) as my preferred meter, but I don't recall it having as much variation with prior test strips I've bought from the local Rite Aid drugstore.So even though the price for these is great, I won't be buying them again. I will however use them until gone, averaging two readings if they aren't too far apart, as in that case they correlate pretty well with my other meter the few times I've checked. When the two readings are far apart, I'll use my other meter to get a 'trusted' reading.
