GewaAir 2.6 Oblong 4/4 Violin Case, Purple High Gloss

Why would an instrument case manufacturer produce an expensive case, manufacture the end handle, but not install it? I paid a lot of money for this case, the description and photos did not specify the lack of this ‘subway’ handle, but I received the case and it wasn’t there. I contacted Gewa, was told that they normally have the hardware for me to install this handle myself but not only do they not have any in stock, they also don’t ship them to Australia. A few hours ago, I took the case to a local guy who will install a handle, and McGuyver something to the other end of the case so it’s not damaged when standing on that end.Otherwise, the case is great. Lightweight, strong and holds my violin snug with no movement. There is a huge zipper removable compartment in the end: well made and just slides in and out of the violin case. The carrying straps are brilliant, with a rubber coating which stops them from sliding off my shoulders even when I’m wearing slippery clothing. I’ve almost dropped my violin in a previous case when the strap slid off and I wasn’t quick enough to catch it. The shoulder rest holder is a terrific idea and I love the versatility of being able to place it where I want.If you buy this case, insist on the subway handle.
