Glass Eels, Shattered Sea Paperback – January 1, 2020

I am always delighted when a new Tusconi tale is released. The science is first rate, the locale beautifully described, and the characters are well developed.

If you are interested in science, especially oceanography, this novel has enough to keep your interest without being overwhelming. I enjoyed the science and facts incorporated into the story in a very natural way. Mara is interested in the life cycles of eels getting involved in a murder and eel trafficking. Mara and Ted work on their relationship hitting bumps along that road as they struggle with the decision to live together, especially when Mara's life is in jeopardy. This story is a page turner. I loved the descriptions of the Maine coastline and ocean. I'll be reading other books by Charlene D'Avanzo. I received an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems. This is my honest review.

This story deals with the black marketing of eels They bring in a hefty price .Gordy and Mara visit an eeler as they are leaving he is shot and dies. He had bee n under cover trying to find the ringleader feeding the black market. Gordy and Mara set out to find those responsible. Good storyline tension filled. Also relays facts of destroying the ocean's ecosystem.I recieved an ARC copy to review

Glass Eels, Shattered Sea (Mara Tusconi Mystery Series Book 4) by Charlene D'Avanzo is a fantastic story that I have loved reading. This is book number four in this fantastic series that I have been hooked on since the beginning of this series. An interesting mystery, the story keeps your interest while it also informs about climate change and science. It’s a real inside peak into the world of marine biology. The story takes you from Maine to the Sargasso Sea and back again. I felt that I learned some interesting things while enjoying watching the story unfold. You’ll find science, mystery, and personal relationship issues.The main character, Mara Tusconi, is intrepid and tends to get herself in hot water more often than not. I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.
