Not quite as weed free as the conventional Scum Frog
In my area (Peterborough Ontario), Scum Frogs are hands down the best top water lure for early season largemouth bass. These popper versions do work well but they tend to snag weed because the eye is more exposed and indent on the leading edge tends to pull the lure down slightly. Tips - always tie directly to the line; keep several colors handy. This year's preferred color is the white one with the green back.

HUNGRY BASS AFTER 3 CASTS
WOW...I tried this lure out for the first time today and after the third cast, a 2 lb bass hit it. Unfortuately, the bass jumped about a foot out of the water and shook the hook off. It was not the lures fault. The bass fought for a short time before he outsmarted me. I did not set the hook strong enough because I was so surprised at the hit. Needless to say, it was a fun morning. Other smaller bass hit the lure too but only chased it. I would still recommend this lure because it cast well, has great action and the extra noise and splash attracts fish.

Never fails great producer
This is the only frog I need. I can pop it walk it or slow retrieve. It is a killer in boat docks too!

Bass slayer!
We live on a pond with a lot of frogs - and weeds. I've had great luck landing some fairly large (and even smaller ones!) with this lure. It's not 100% weedless, but nonetheless works really well!

It’s okay
There’s better frogs out there I’d prefer.
