Great IDEA, BAD Execution
I was drawn to Blackview because they were supposed to be rugged. I dropped my first phone on the couch and the screen broke. They said that it wasn't covered, since I dropped it. Yes... I get that, but a one foot drop to a couch cushion shouldnt break any screen, especially a "Rugged Phone". Then I bought this one to use while the first one was being fixed, and it never worked right. Blackview customer service was non existent. I emailed them repeatedly and they just ignored me. The phones are really nice, but without customer service and support, theyre useless. And theyre definitely not rugged.

Good phone with excellent features!
The Blackview BV9900E arrived promptly from the shipper is excellent condition. The toughness of this phone is very impressive although it might be a little heavy for some. After all, it is a full aluminium frame with additional protection from those hard knocks of life. I like the fact it has a dual sim tray. As I travel internationally it is always nice to insert the sim card from the local nation and have both your home service as well as work associates locally on a local number. The phone is smooth and quick, loading updates quickly. All other apps load quickly and work flawlessly. Over all, I am well pleased with this phone so far and the seller's attention to detail.

It didn't work with the Cricket network so, I didn't get to use it.
I wasn't able to use my phone with the Cricket network. They said on the review that Cricket was able to be used but, someone needs to correct that otherwise, that's purely false advertising. However, I did like the way the phone felt in my hand. It didn't feel dainty or easily breakable. I was very disappointed with not being able to actually use my newly purchased and returned phone. I was sure ready to love it!

Thiiiicc Boi
I normally don't write reviews but there is a review by an Uneducated Customer that is really hurting this phones rating. If you were looking for a self defense device this is the one, this phone has the potential to become a baton. It's size and weight make it a very appealing for assault arrest. This is one of the key factors in it's excellent durability, while retaining a proper smartphone feel. I have had this phone for only a short amount of time and have dropped it many times, with out any extra protective devices like a case or screen protector, and the phone keeps on going and still looks great. The screen is quite scratch resistant, during one of the drops the phone was face down on a surface with particulate, no problems there. I have not tried the waterproofing and wont unless it's a mistake. On the subject of the screen: It does not have a great ppi for todays standards for smart phones but is not terrible. Very bright when needed and has great color. I have been playing an RTS on it and works fairly well, the punch out camera does offset the on screen play but the image does go to the bezels. I think that the most difficult thing to adjust for is the keyboard in landscape. The camera is great, I mean it's better than most mid range cameras on the market, It has many adjustments and even some fun AI driven masks. The "portrait mode" (Bokeh) is very good, unlike the iPhone it is adjustable for your own aesthetic appeal. Just for comparison this phones main camera is 4x the megapixels of the iPhone 12.There are a few preloaded apps that are not typically removable or disable-able, this is nothing a google and some simple learning can not fix. There are some really great apps for everyday activities. the "Toolbag" has a Compass, Decibel Reader, Bullseye Level & Plumb Bob, Heart Rate Monitor and Barometer, to name a few. I have used them all and have found that the accuracy is with in reasonable levels for quick reference. The quick button on the side has a gimmick aspect to it but having a hard button with three programable functions to it can be quite useful. When I first set up my phone, I put my old 4g phone's sim card in and before I restarted it the first time it was on roaming only, regardless of the APN that I selected, after the restart it connected to the network on one APN only. I will be contacting my provider to see if there is any optimization to do.Overall this phone, if you can handle that Thiiiicc Boi life, is an excellent choice for a rugged smartphone. This is my third rugged phone and it is comparable to some flagships that I have owned. I would suggest this phone at the price that I bought it at ($299) I feel that the $399 price that it is listed at is also good, consider the pro version of this phone (FLIR technology!)

Actually kinda slim
Phone feels solid. Pretty fast. I weekend this phone and while it's not doing 10 things at a time like my daily flagship phone, it is not much slower . Very happy with how thin it is. Picture a galaxy s6 with an otter box for size. It is a pretty raw android, none of the fancy trinkets of the big brands but also only bloatware is a bit of google. Average camera. So far great battery life.
