As previous reviews mention, it doesn't come with an AC adapter, which is all but required - on my example, it was practically impossible to get the battery tray open, and once you do, it's design that all but begs for you to tear the thin power cables out from the circuit board. I can't imagine how someone would run this regularly off of batteries without damaging the battery compartment.The weighing platform is decently-sized and the feet are easy to level, but the level located on the back of the unit makes it hard to see, and compared to the Ohaus Navigator that replaced this, it's slow to update. Although there's an auto-off disable function, you can't silence the annoying turn-on and off beeps, which are apparently just at the right frequency to burn a hole in my eardrum after daily use.I wouldn't recommend this. Ohaus, A&D and others make balances in this price/weight range that I'd pick.

Works well, but would be significantly improved if it came with an AC adapter instead of just batteries. I neglected to read the fine print and assumed it would come with one since that tends to be pretty standard.
