RockShoxDust/Oil Seal Installation Tool, 32mm

Even though this is the Rock Shox brand tool, I should have bought the similar tool from GICB which has an extended shaft that fits into the upper to ensure proper alignment. It made seal installation much easier since the seal wasn't always trying to go in at an angle.

Was doing the recommended maintenance on my Rockshox front fork and needed the tool to press in the new dust seals/gaskets.Made the job much easier and ensured they went in straight with no issues.

If you're doing a rebuild with new fork seals on your Rock Shox fork with 32mm stanchions, you need this tool. It works easy enough (a soft mallet might be needed to help coax the seals to seat). Failure to use this tool will result in damaging your new seals.Everyone doesn't rebuild their forks every 25 hours of riding but you'll be more likely to put new seals in either every year or every other year if you have the tool. Worn out seals let grit in and will scratch the stanchions. Don't risk it.

I bought this to use on both Rock Shox and Fox forks...both size 32mm. As this was $20 cheaper than the comparable Fox version, I hoped to use it on both. While it works well for the Rock Shox wipers, it does not work so well with the Fox wipers. When using it on the Fox wipers, it collapses the inner part and causes the spring to come out. While ultimately not a big deal, and ultimately works, one would think that 32mm would be 32mm from both companies.

During your rebuild you'll only use this tool for a total of about a minute, just to press the dust seals onto the fork legs. It takes some body weight to press them into place, but the tool makes it incredibly easy. I initially balked at the price for such a simple tool, but it really made the process very easy. I ride a lot so I'm sure I'll be rebuilding again in the future, and knowing I have already bought the tool means that it's just a matter of buying the seals and the oil and then I'm set.

This is a tool to have if you want to avoid awful surprises when servicing your front RockShox suspension. In my case, I didn't use it the first time when servicing one of my Rebas and by the time a was putting air to the upper chamber (last step)....the seal took off and of course I had to redo everything again. I learnt the hard way. Using this tool everything went perfect and my Rebas are working flawlessly. Btw, be sure to order the correct one (32 vs 34).

works fine but I still struggle to seat the seals flush with the fork. I've seen some do-it-yourself tools that does what this tool does but better because they are longer and it gives you more leverage. I haven't used any others yet and like I said, this one gets the job done.

I don't mind spending a little money to do things myself and do it the right way. This tool is the right tool for installing your Reba dust seals. It works great for the 10 seconds you have to use it when servicing your fork lowers. I only gave four stars because I think it's a little overpriced for what it is.

Hay opciones más económicas, pero con opiniones diversas, finalmente preferí pagar algo más por uno oficial (aunque en mi caso la horquilla es Fox, pero eso da igual) y el resultado es satisfactorio. Herramienta imprescindible para no volverte loco metiendo los rapapolvos de manera rápida y correcta.

Esta herramienta es útil ya que encaja a la perfección con los retenes y facilita enormemente la tarea de instalarlos!La herramienta viene sin caja, simplemente en una bolsa (ver foto).El acabado es bueno, sin rebabas y plástico de calidad.Cómo punto negativo...El color es muy poco atractivo por no decir feo...Os dejo unas fotos para que la podáis ver en detalle.

Este útil facilita bastante el instalar los retenes de la horquilla. No es imprescindible, pero con el guarreo que se lía con el aceite, ayuda a que la faena sea más llevadera. También se puede usar una llave de vaso en lugar de esta herramienta. El utensilio en sí está bien acabado y rematado, aunque no deja de ser un trozo de plástico y para lo que es me parece caro. En cualquier caso, si le haces un mantenimiento habitual a la horquilla, merece la pena tenerlo.

El producto es muy caro y no facilita apenas la tarea del cambio de retenes, ya que hay que aplicar mucha fuerza después. Sería más útil una herramienta que facilitara la presión de los retenes.
