Surprisingly fun!
I had never heard of this keyboard until my daughter told us about it. We got it for her to try out, and she loves it! (Although she doesn't really know how to REALLY play it for now - still learning songs, etc. She's been enjoying it, so all in all, it's money well spent. Definitely more educational than a video game, so there's that, too. Looking forward to when she can REALLY play it!

Super fun
I always wanted one of these. Up until now, the only ones I've ever tried were of a lesser, toy-like quality than this one. From what I can tell, this is an entry level legit melodica. The sound seems good enough, it was at least as good or better than I expected. The build seems solid. Though the materials throughout may be a bit cheaper than those found in a brand name/more expensive instrument.I like that it came with a case. Soft, probably won't hold up to a tour van or anything, but good enough to store at home, for sure.Like a harmonica, you have a great deal of control over the tone and volume of your notes using your breath, and the keys have nice, comfortable action. I think it's really fun to play. And probably a great instrument for the casual user, or a beginner. The keys have raised Solfège "Do Re Mi.." and numeric markings for reference.

I got this for my grandson
Or granddaughter! Both have chosen instruments to play - g-son plays an acoustic guitar (his dad is an amazing electric guitar player) and my g-daughter chose a violin. I thought this might be a fun way to get them playing music when they are frustrated with their chosen instrument. This is a great way to hear the keys and maybe play a few easy tunes like twinkle twinkle little star and feel better about going back to their original instruments. I placed a mask over the tubing and made some sounds on it before giving it to them. I played the organ which follows the keys on this 32-key mouth piano - it can be changed by how you blow, soft or hard can affect the sound when you press the keys! Definitely a great way to introduce an instrument to a child - music is a life-long enrichment!

I LOVE this!
The media could not be loaded. I've never played a melodica before-- I hadn't even heard of them, although I think I've seen them. I grabbed this one up and received it the very next day. I LOVE it. I have played piano for years, so that's not an issue, but I still have to learn technique. And, I know it's a versatile instrument because I watched a lot of youtube yesterday before I ordered it. Also, I want to figure out some trumpet or sax solos on this, since that would be fun.I'm very much a beginner (I've played for two hours total) and this video is about 10 minutes into my playing. So, it's easy to use if you have played piano and don't have lung issues, but it isn't easy to sound fantastic. Hopefully that will come. Very fun instrument. It comes with a nice blue carrying bag (with strap), some instructions, a cleaning cloth, and a plastic tube and mouthpiece. No batteries needed.
