Window Regulator Repair Kit Compatible with Porsche Carrera 911 (996) Convertible Rear Quarter Left or Right 1998-2004 99662411103

Rather than finding a local shop and paying some number of thousand-ish dollars, I installed this when my 996 rear window mechanism suddenly snapped. Getting the regulator out is the hard part, this kit made the next step straightforward once you decide how to flare the rivet part. No issues a month later.

The cables were not the correct length. the rivit to hold the new pulley is garbage and unuseable. very low quality

Bought my 2001 Porsche 911 last month never having a chance to really go over the vehicle. Thankfully everything seems to be in working order except for the rear passenger side window, which could be pushed up and down by hand, a clear sign that the regulator was kaput. After watching a few YouTube videos I decided to tackle the project. Looked around and bought this cheap kit hoping it would do the job, and so far, so good. Window goes up and down as expected. Lets hope it lasts, but only time will tell. If not, all the practice I got should help things go smoother and quicker next time around. In my view, this does the job!

Yup...quite surprised, actually. Was expecting this to be 'not quite right' when ordered but figured, eh...its 70.00 bucks, give it a shot since Porsche Tax makes an original OEM replacement regulator over 900.00 delivered. How bad could it be? Well, it did exactly what it was intended and advertised to do. Simple to install. I tested it out of the vehicle and much to my surprise, it worked perfectly! Saved me 830.00 by not having to purchase a new regulator. Couldn't be happier. On a side note, Amazon shipped in a day...so think about it - car broke on Saturday, received part Sunday, repaired, assembled, and installed, back on road Sunday afternoon!Great Job All!

The tool you need to set the rivet is called a rivet setter. The kit I bought and used with my air hammer is listed on Amazon as Anndason 7 Pcs Great Heavy Duty Smoothing Pneumatic Air Rivet Hammer Tools Kit.This kit worked great!

This could not be easier to install. Lol. But removing the old one from your car maybe. Porsche 911 convertible.

Kit contains the upper thin pulley which is a must, some kits don't. It also comes with a rivet for that thin pulley. How to actually rivet the rivet I don't know, It is pretty solid, you need a hydraulic press to actually flatten it, no instructions. I ended up cutting the rivet and tapping it so I could bolt it in place, I think that is a better solution.

Replacing the gear required a grinder to get the old bush/bearing off - the new one fit perfectly as did all the other pieces. Shipped quickly - exactly as ordered. Highly recommend
