Excellent Compact Can Opener!! (Especially if you have carpal tunnel)
OK folks, I've struggled with Carpal Tunnel almost 22 years and it's gotten increasingly harder to open cans with a manual can opener. This thing is a miracle!! I love everthing about it. It's small, compact and uses batteries. It fits in my kitchen cabinet drawer. It's one button and done. Seriously, all you to set it on top of the can and push the button. The can open then rotates all the way around the can and opens the entire can and then stops at the starting point, so you know it's finished. Not all of the battery operated can openers have the automatic stop. This was important for me, as I'm often busy in the kitchen and will start the can opener and then go do something else. There are no sharp edges once the can opener is finished and you just lift the top off the can. There's even a magnet that will lift the can lid for you. It could not be any easier. I showed some friends a couple of days ago and they thought this thing was the coolest can open they'd ever seen. I have to agree with them... AND it does what it says it will do.

nor do I recommend this product
UPDATE: After only a few months of use, the blade dulled to the point that I have to run it 4 - 5 times to get a can open. I will not purchase another, nor do I recommend this product. Very impressed in the beginning but disappointed in the end. My cheaper tornado outlasted this more expensive can opener.PREVIOUS REVIEW: So far I am loving this can opener. I previously had a Tornado that last almost two years. I'm hoping to get at least that out of this one. This is just the right size and shape for my hands, which makes it easier to grip and even has the colored rubber grip which comes in different colors. It is heavier than the Tornado, which implies sturdier construction, which does seem to be the case. I use rechargeable batteries in mine. When the batteries are low, the opener will disengage before it's finished opening the can, so you never get stuck with trying to get the opener off of the can if your batteries die before the job is done. I "encouraged" it to finish the job by starting it two more times to get my last can opened, but you can also kind of tell when the batteries are getting low because it sounds like it's slowing down. With fully charge batteries this opener is also quicker than the Tornado that I previously owned. I will repurchase this will my current one dies.

It's a good product
It is a good opener. I've had a Sharper Image opener for 8 years and it just died... so I needed another hands free opener (arthritic hands) This one is not the same but, so it took some getting used to. The edges are not as sharp and I like that very much. The magnet doesn't catch the lid very well, I have to pull it off. Not a major hardship but I wish it were easier. I got one for my 88 yr old mom as well.

As a senior, I expected an easy can opener because it was recommended for individuals with arthritis and hand pain. I had difficulty attaching or trying to place it on the can for anchoring. While I was trying to attached it to the can the third time, thinking it was attached and ready to open the can I dropped the can and the can opener to the floor. Because of my frustration with this automatic can opener, I don't remember how I dropped the Bartelli automatic can opener and the can to the floor. When it fell on the floor and the can was not attached, the piece that anchors the can did not held the can for opening and the piece protruding from he Bartelli Soft edge electric automatic can opener with assistive auto-stop did not perform to my expectations as it is described with the product. I had to return it and order a different brand can opener. This item was returned.

Best EVER Can opener
I had a bad record with electric can openers. Seems like I bought one every year or two. Even if I found one that I liked, my husband couldn't get the thing to work properly. After years of complaints from my husband, I thought I would give this little battery-operated model a try. I gave it to my husband for his birthday, and he hasn't stopped singing it's praises. He even wants me to buy more for Christmas gifts for friends and family! It's easy to use, fits any size can, doesn't leave sharp edges, and it's FUN! Great for people who have arthritis or difficulty opening things.

best auto can opener we have ever had
We have tried a few of these types of can openers, and this is the best one by far. It always gets a clean cut on the lid, and the autostop is so useful. Our last one did not have that, and if you were busy with something on the stove the can opener would just keep going until you stopped it. This one has a smart autostop that works well. It has a good look too.

Best Invention Ever
Great product for me since I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis. Just set it on the can, push the button, and the little opener goes to work perfectly. It is so safe that even my 6-year-old grandson can use it. It takes a while for the batteries to wear out, but very simple to replace them. If the batteries die while opening a can, it does not release very easy. But, as I said, opening the battery compartment on the top makes it easy to replace them and continue on with opening the can.
