FujifilmLH-X100 Lens Hood and Adapter Ring

I purchased the Fujifilm x100 camera, and I am absolutely pleased with it! There are so many wonderful things about it: it's look, it's functions, it's myriad possibilities for making great photos, etc. However, the one thing that I don't like (which isn't really about the camera and it's functions) is that I also ordered the lens hood and the case. I love the case. The only thing that bothers me is the inner black-matte coating on the inner surface of the lens hood. It is supposed to be non-reflecting, but the black coating continues to peel off. I have contacted the seller who told me that the manufacturer suggests that I use a magic marker (oil-based paint marker) and cover up the places where the matte coating has peeled off. After having paid a rather hefty price for the camera and for the lens hood I would have expected that Fujifilm would insist that this problem would be non-existent. In addition, and because this was not the case, I would have expected that Fujifilm would have immediately sent me a replacement lens hood that would not peel. However, I must say, I have not asked them to do so, but I have, as mentioned above, discussed this with seller, from whom I purchased the hood and the case through Amazon. Perhaps Amazon should insist that this problem be addressed, and that I be sent a replacement lens hood. This is a handsome and useful addition to the X100T camera. It comes with a replacement ring to which you attach the bayonet-locking hood. I purchased this, and a B+W UV filter, so I can carry around and use the camera without the lens cap. The filter protects the front lens element, and the hood protects the camera - I would rather have a dented hood than a dented lens housing.The bayonet locks tight in a satisfying way. It does protrude into the viewfinder, but I don't find it distracting.The hood is rather expensive, but it is of very high quality - not like buying a plastic Leica hood for $$$!

The X100 is a wonderful camera with a superlative lens. This lens hood will help protect it and prevent extraneous light from degrading your shots. Plus it comes with an adapter ring that allows you to use 49mm photo filters on the lens. It's made from the same magnesium alloy as the X100 and it looks great on the camera. There are two downsides: the price, which is pretty outrageous and also the fact that you can't use the stock lens cap with this hood on the lens. The solution is to buy a cheap plastic 49mm lens cap that will snap on with the lens hood in place. I found one on Amazon for six bucks that does the job.

This is perfect. Yes, cheap imitations exist. But this is the real deal, and it is excellent.Nice 'velvet' pouch to carry it in. Good to have, since when it's on, I put the original lens ring and the lens cap in the pouch.Only suggestion? All the accessories for the X100 fit the X100S. Could you please start branding the accessories with the 'S?'Kind of like having a case for a Windows 7 laptop, with 'Vista' written on the outside of the case.

Received the product in a damaged state (the adapter ring had a dent/chip in it). I had to call and order another, which was a very easy process. However, the replacement I received had an additional Fujifilm x100 carrying bag in the box that the original did not. This confirmed my suspicion that the original package I had revived was USED since it did not include the carrying bag and was a damaged product.

While this hood is expensive compared to non-Fuji products it is very high quality. I want the hood to protect the lens so paying a little extra is well worth it in my opinion.

Expensive for what it is. I recommend this instead: JJC LH-JX100II BLACK Upgrade Lens Hood Shade Adapter which is substantially cheaper, takes up less optical viewfinder space, and fits the original lens cap.

Works great though it's a little annoying to have to remove it constantly since it wont take a lens cap while this is attached.

Perfect fit. Protect the lens and compact.

As expected, the craftsmanship on this original part is exceptional and it looks stunning on the camera. It is crazy expensive for what it is, and I wasn't going to buy it based on the price, but I needed an adapter ring to put a UV filter on to protect the lens. The genuine adapter ring as well is crazy expensive, so for the little bit extra I figured I would get the hood and adapter ring combo. I am not disappointed, and it is such a lovely camera it seems only right to make sure you have the best quality accessories to go with it!
