Customize the Ruger 10/22

Save yourself the $20 and stick to YouTube. This book is incomplete and obsolete. If you think that this book will guide you through various projects with schematics and precise yet detailed step by step instructions, move on. I'll flip through this thing again on a rainy day to maybe get some ideas for future projects, but not for instructions (or unnecessary opinion pieces).

I read the negative reviews of this book and don't really understand much of their criticism. It seems fairly well organized and the photos aren't bad. Color would be nice but we can't have everything. I use the book for generalized info but get my real "how to" guidance from some excellent YouTube videos. The combination of the two sources has helped me and my sausage fingers successfully accomplish all of my projects.

Very complete and informative. Unfortunately it looks dated because all the pictures are Black and White (with the exception of the cover). The quality of the pictures, and there are many, does not match the quality of the text. Since this is the new edition, it seems this would have been the time for a high def upgrade.

Even though this is a 2nd edition, some things were outdated. This book shows very little “how-to” upgrade and more of “heres what’s possible” to upgrade. There is a section about accuracy using various ammo and upgrade choices which I think could have been excluded for more actual “how-to” install step-by-step parts.

Some details are separated by a few chapters which make it hard to follow but they are there. Overall I enjoyed the book with it's full coverage of details about customizing the 10/22.

Great book. I have had at a minimum 4 10/22 at any one time and 2 of those are custom (.17 HMR) conversion. Great reference book. A Must have for any 10/22 enthusiast.
