Buying My 4th One Today
I purchased two of these (for my wife and myself) at the end of 2011 and a third as a gift for a friend in early January of 2013. All have worked well and we have no complaints. My wife uses hers just to listen to the music stored in her iPhone 4S. She has a playlist of her favorite music set up and doesn't take her phone out of her purse when she gets in the car so never uses the charging feature. TuneLink connects within a few seconds of starting the car and just simply works. She doesn't object to not being able to skip a track (she'd need to get her phone out to do that), because as she puts it, she loves everything in her playlist. We tend to forget that the music source is her phone, so on occasion when I'm driving her car and she gets out of the car to go into a store while I look for parking, it's usually a surprise to me when I get beyond bluetooth range of her purse and the music in the car stops.I use mine in a little different matter. I always put my iPhone 4S in a dash holder in my vehicles and hook it to the TuneLink charging port because I like the phone accessible, I like to keep the phone battery topped off, and related to that, I frequently use GPS navigation which draws more heavily on the phone battery than most other Apps. I rarely listen to the "iTune" type music stored in my iPhone, rather I use TuneLink to listen to SiriusXM radio (via a subscription and iPhone App), and occasionally to audio books or one of my other radio-type Apps on my phone (anything from International radio stations to police and fire calls). Since the phone is attached to the dash it's easy for me to change "channels" or in the case of iPhone music, skip tracks. Some Apps even have a "car mode" with large buttons to make mobile operation easier. By the nature of how the iPhone sound connects through TuneLink, the audio guidance of the GPS App comes through the radio too (it can be set to mute or reduce other radio/App sounds during speech) and I've very pleased with how it functions.I don't claim to be especially sensitive to audio quality, but to me, the music and general audio coming through TuneLink sounds as good as any broadcast station my vehicle radio picks up. I've discussed it with my wife and the person that received the gift TuneLink and they feel the same way. That's not a scientific assessment, but rather a real world expression of satisfaction. I'm not saying there is no difference, rather that if there is, I don't notice it.I think my wife has had to do two bluetooth reconnects to her TuneLine in 18 months and I've done either two or three. In my case I'm not sure that the need for that wasn't caused by something I'd done to the phone rather than a TuneLink problem. I recall that in at least one case, I had to reboot the phone (because it stopped responding) using the power-and-Home-button combination and the phone then had to be manually bluetooth-reconnected to TuneLink after reboot, but that was an unusual circumstance. I just don't recall the details of the other occasions, it's been a long time.I can't comment on temperature issues really. We live in the Seattle area where the outside temperature is pretty mild most of the time and so is the interior temperature of our vehicles, usually not more than about 75 degrees. All the TuneLink devices are plugged into open dash ports rather than inside a console or glove box, so the air circulates freely around them and even in summer I doubt the device is ever exposed to more than 90 degrees - and then not for long periods. These comments are directed at establishing the operating environment for the TuneLink devices, I don't know if I've ever touched the TuneLink device after it's been operating for any length of time, so I don't know if it gets warm or not.I can confirm that TuneLink works fine with our iPhone 4S models running IOS 6.1 (I haven't upgraded to the latest) and the TuneLink I gave as a gift is being used with an iPhone 5 running the latest IOS. So far there's been no report of any trouble from the iPhone 5 user.I'm purchasing my 4th TuneLink today because I have two vehicles and I'm tired of moving the TuneLink device between them, or more exactly, forgetting to move it and then discovering it's not in the vehicle I chose to drive that day.

Great product but reliability seems to be an issue.
This is a great piece of technology while it works. It is painless to install and set up and pair with bluetooth iPhones. Start your car, and the music starts a few seconds later. The sound quality is excellent, even with FM transmission. The unit is small and looks like a small USB cigarette plug charger with a circular light around the top. It has a USB plug and a RCA Ax cable plug on top. The bluetooth phone connection on my car works simultaneously with the bluetooth audio from the Tunelink unit. The problem with my unit and many other reviewers is one of reliability. My first unit worked flawlessly for about two months and suddenly stopped connecting. I think the problem is transmission from the unit as other phones could not pair or find the signal to pair after this happened. I contacted Amy at Technical Support who was great and promptly exchanged my unit for a new one (I paid return shipping). The second unit lasted about a week and the same problems. Contacted Amy and this time she sent me another new unit and with return shipping covered. One day and so far the new one is working great. Will keep you updated if it malfunctions again.9-3-13: Third unit lasted about two weeks and then quit connecting suddenly. Contacted Amy again at Tech Support, new updated unit is on its way. I'll let you know how unit number four works in a few weeks. Starting to get frustrated.10-5-13: Unit four worked great, then total power failure. New Unit 5 promptly exchanged by Amy at TuneLink support. So far, number 5 working great. In the meantime, I purchased a Griffin BlueTrip (discontinued now $55) so I would have at least one working unit regardless. The TuneLink has much better sound than the Griffin in head to head tests. Bass sounds seem muted and the output volume is lower with the Griffin. The Griffin has a lower profile, a telephone microphone but no USB charging port or FM broadcast capability. All things considered, still think a working TuneLink is the best option and at least New Potato stands behind their products. I was told that I received an updated model which should be more reliable.10-13-13: Wow, unit # 5 just stopped connecting suddenly. Will contact NP tomorrow. Although this is an awesome product when it works, I cannot recommend it after experiencing 5 malfunctioning units.10-28-13: OK, so now on unit #6, I hate to say it but it worked great for about a week and then quit working again. I asked TuneLink customer support to see if it was somehow my car or it I keep on getting defective units. At least they are honest and told me all the units I sent back seem to be malfunctioning on their own. I'll call tomorrow and try for unit #7 or a refund. In the meantime, I ordered the $40 Kinivo BTC450 which has 4.5 Amazon stars. Too bad because I really like the TuneLink when it works.1-19-14: So I've been using the Kinivo for about 3 months now. It works great with easy connectivity and excellent sound. The big problem with it is that it has a microphone for bluetooth telephone built in so it grabs all calls and uses the Kinivo microphone instead of my car's which severely lowers the sound quality for those listening to me talk. Each time I make or receive a call, I have to manually change the microphone input on my phone. I contacted Kinivo and the microphone cannot be disabled. In the meantime, I've received unit #7 yesterday - some delay because New Potato supposedly improved the model and I waited for the newer model. It is still working well after two days so I am hopeful!

Verbindung bricht dauernd ab!
Finger weg Leute!
