Interesting Read
If you can move past the horrible acts of the individuals and allow your mind to take in the information with regards to patients, treatment and services. Even a bit to the historical side. It's a phenomenal read. I will say that for me I had to pause several times to pull my emotions away from the victims. My heart needed to heal and my mind needed to compartmentalize

Disappointed
Disappointed because there is precious little coverage of what people want to read about when they buy a book about Broadmoor, England's famous, premier hospital for the criminally insane. Sutcliffe et all are or were housed there. We want to know about these people. What are they like on a day to day basis? There is plenty to say to that question but here, as in other "Broadmoor" books, there are only a few sentences. We really aren't that interested in policies, history, maybe a little, but it's the reason why these people are in there that we buy the book. What did they do? Why are they kept in an escape proof compound? Why not in prison? (Many are now being hauled back to live out their lives in prison). The book is well written, as most books from England are, because they have such an advanced education system. But you can't get around the fact that what we want isn't in the book.

Interesting but poorly written
I enjoyed the insights into the history of the hospital and the various ward structures. However, I’m afraid I found the writing itself pretty poor with some odd repetition and lack of reference/context in parts - almost as though the editorial process was lax or even absent !
