We haven't made our crystals yet. I bought them as a wedding anniversary gift. Year 3 is "crystals" and I'm broke AF so we're making our own. I'm just submitting a review for the $3 Amazon credit. To be honest though, I have no clue how to rate this on a scale of "thickness", "warmth", and "sheerness". It'd be zero for all 3 I guess. I don't know what sheerness is, though, so that could be higher than zero without me knowing. My wife thoroughly enjoyed this ironic take on a Year 3 wedding anniversary gift, though, and if this review can tell you anything, it's that a happy wife is a happy life, and for that I am forever grateful for this crystal growing set.

This was for our three children. Unfortunately, they provide square grow containers and smaller round display containers. There's no way to display these in the provided containers without breaking off a good portion. Further, only one of the 3 grew up in direction more than out towards the edges. The other two went to the edges so the best crystals are part of what would be broken off IF we could even get the display cases to work. Then there's the displays themselves. There's a bottom and there's a top. They don't fit together. So if we had round crystals for the provided displays, they wouldn't stay closed. All around a failure other than the excitement of the crystals actually growing.

These are really fun to watch grow but don't grow in a dome-shape making it impossible to fit in the display case. The crystal covered the bottom of the square growing container and when you try to remove it it cracks. Would be great if it grew properly.

My child needed to grow crystals for a science class. We did the traditional way, and then used this kit as well so that we could compare and contrast. The crystals were done in about a week, and there is still more stuff to grow more. This kit is a great value, and I would definitely recommend it.

My kids and I really enjoyed doing this project together. They thought it was so cool. (Ages 4-10). The only complaint I have is that when removing the crystal after the amount of time it needed to develop it wasn’t shaped how it was supposed to be and was stuck to the bottom of the bowl it grew in. It was hard to remove and did not come out in the shape that you see in the picture.

After being very careful follow directions, we ended up with two blocks as our finished products, and decided not to try the 3rd 'crystal'. Did not come out like their pictures. :( Can't even get it out of the growing container because it grew to the container.

The White Crystal worked wonderfully! Great fun! However, the other 2 colors bled just about everywhere and as well the crystalline structure was very fragile and did not grow UP, but SIDEWAYS.

Only one of the three did anything and that was minimal. I gave these to my grandchildren and they were so disappointed after 10 days they threw them out.
