J2 Engineering J2-GG-009 Heavy Duty Honeycomb Mesh Front Bumper Guard Replacement [Compatible with 07-13 GMC Sierra 1500]

First of all this is a beefy bumper bar. I have no doubt it will do its job. I was tempted by some others that were cheaper, but decided that when it comes to safety of my occupants; that I didn't want something that would rust or fall apart at a gentle tap. The instructions were ok. The pictures were lousy. It took a few minutes to understand. It also seems that whoever welded mine was in a hurry. One of the headlight bars ( two separate pieces that bolt to the center ) was welded slightly crooked. As was the bottom cross bar below the grille screen. Cosmetically it was a disappointment. But not enough to make me send it back. I expected better for the amount of money. But since so many things come from China these days, I guess this is the best I can expect. My only other choice for a tough bar was to have someone fabricate one. Who knows what that would have cost.

Looks great on the truck, but it was a pain to install. The pictures with the instructions are trash, can’t make out what they are showing at all. Much of the hardware was too short or BARELY long enough, I replaced most of it.

This brushgaurd looks great on the truck. The only issue was installation because the 2 brackets that come with it dont really work for this bruahguard on the chevy suburban it's meant for. No install holes in top of bruahguard to brace too. Had to customize brackets to work.

Tough and sturdy. Makes our Silver f- 350, with a black flatbed look sharp. The cost was reasonable! Works.

Headlight protectors were bent out of shape so I took them off other than that it’s a great item

The product looked well built but it lacked the nuts and bolts required to install it not worth trying to send back for missing bolts so went down to home depot to buy after market, and the worst part the headlight covers that bolt onto the brush guard were not even. The left side had a 1 inch gap between the headlight and the bar the drivers side headlight bar had a 4 inch gap from the headlight to the bar that bolts onto the brush guard. So when looking from the front it looks like the left side (passenger side) molded wrong and the right side (Drivers side) it looks like it was the wrong headlight cover due to it sticking out to far with a 4 inch gap. the only way to fix it is to have a welder heat the right side headlight cover bar and bend it in order to align it right. The welding on the Brush guard will need some spot welding in order for it not to come apart due to stress. This Brush guard was installed on a 2016 Ford F250 super duty truck, and by the way the instructions were not readable as well as the pictures to how to install, you had to guess what went where.

Love it. Put on old ladies tahoe. Looks nice and well built.

I took the kit and instructions to a NAPA auto shop. The technician was more than patient and tried several times but the side wings kept hitting the lights and sides. I have left them off and use only the bull bar. Too many deer in my area to go without anymore. Not sure what to do with the wings but I have a friend that may help fabricate something. He just doesn’t know it yet. Yes he is a good friend.
