My Ayurveda doctor and later my nutritionist suggested a cleanse once a week using just mung and cauliflower rice, flavored with any grounding spices I’d like (curry blends of any kind). So far it’s working beautifully and I sprinkle coconut flakes for added fat instead of cooking with ghee or oil. 6 oz mung, 10 oz cauliflower rice and 1 oz unsweet coconut flakes plus spices to taste equals a perfect meal 2 times a day & for the breakfast the portions are 4 oz rice, 6 oz mung & 6 oz cauliflower rice. That follows bright line eating per my portions following the boot camp. You can also have a cup of broth at lunch and dinner, making it more a soup than a porridge. I go heavy on the turmeric and garlic in my broth. Or I do white miso.

Where have you bean all my life?
Updated Review:I decided one day to randomly buy some organic mung beans and realized that this non-organic one is vastly inferior. The organic mung bean that I bought barely had any outer green skin when I went to wash it. However, this one is filled with it and I usually end up washing it a lot more. Also, the water is much murkier when washing this one. In terms of value though, this one is hard to beat. However, I think I'll end up buying the organic beans from now on.Previous Review:I thought twice before buying this because of the negative reviews about the strong odor. Rest assure, that is no longer the case. They must have had a bad batch at one point or something, but my batch is perfect. I opened the bag of beans and immediately took a big whiff, but no strong odor whatsoever. Super amazing value compared to my local market. I made some green bean milk drink and it came out tasting great! Will definitely buy again!Flavor 5/5 *****Value 5/5 *****My Recommendation 5/5 *****

dont know what happened
I'm pretty sure I've ordered the same Dal before and it was fine. This last batch was inedible. It had the most chemically smell ever, it almost got me high just smelling it. There was no way any sane human would want to put it in their body. We tried cooking it but the overwhelming smell remained. I've never written a review on here but this prompted me to do it. It's sad to just waste food, but I wouldn't even give it away to my worst enemy. If it was washed even once it was with some nasty toxic liquid, not your good ol' H20.

Flavor and smell are wonderful - love this stuff
Delicious flavor. Makes great vegan scramble that includes the bean fiber (unlike the Just Egg that has become so expensive and now impossible to find). We'll be ordering again. There is no bad odor at all. Smells slightly like fresh corn. Not sure what other reviews are talking about. Maybe a bad batch? We almost didn't buy this brand but glad we did. A fair value and excellent product quality. VEGAN - A++++

Not the real mung daal
I have been eating Mung daal my whole life..but this package did not have the real product. The seeds are small, it takes much longer time to cook it and the taste is not the same. Maybe it is Mung daal, but not the one I am used to.

Good price, quick delivery
Good price, quick delivery, but odd smell and poor quality. I recommend to spend the extra few bucks and get the organic kind from Banyan....
