I was a little leary about buying this only because it had no reviews and at the time, similar products did not have the best reviews. But since it was dura-vent and I've had good luck with some of their other products, I took the leap.Overall it is a pretty heavy hose, given what it is. I have to think people buying this kind of product, might have to high of expectations. I mean you want a flexible aluminum hose, but you complain if it can rip. Well, hard to have both. I think the hose is as heavy as it can get to still be flexible enough to bend it around or fit it in to openings in your wall. It can be ripped, but it takes some strength to happen. You just need to be careful when installing it. I had no problems.So, the hose it pretty heavy duty and it's like not like easy to tear plastic. If that makes sense.As you can see by the attached photos, I choose to mount in inside the wall thimble, for a couple reasons. It does come with a mounting plate and is quite sturdy, just didn't need it for my application. There is also the metal cap/flange, only reason I didn't use it is that it wouldn't fit where I put the inlet.I am happy with the purchase. It defiantly draws in the cold air. Couple weeks ago when it was real cold, you could feel the hose inside was quite cold. And I can feel the air coming in when I clean out the fire pot.Only reason I took off one star, is that I think it is slightly over priced. Not outrageous, just seems it could be a little cheaper. Still don't regret buying or the price.Can't say it's helped my stove burn better, but I think it is not burning as good as it should is because of the stove and I need to replace the door seal.It was shipped and delivered quickly and packaged quite well.

This is really a quality product. I actually used it to improve airflow into my wood stove when room air venting wasn't sufficient. It really improved the air flow allowing for better wood burning.

Enough length to cover most venting/intake needs. Great quality.

The photo is very misleading. The hose is maybe 5' long stretched as far as you can pull it. $70 for a tiny metal plate and a 4' long piece of flimsy aluminum hose.

Little large for the vogelsang intake. Works well
