My partner and I own a fitness boot camp business and we just added one of these ropes today with great success! We already have four 40 foot 1.5 inch thick GoFit Combat ropes and those work very well but they're expensive compared to this brand. We payed $150 a piece for them at Dicks which is $50 more expensive than Amazon BTW.We decided to add one 30 foot 1.5 inch thick to try these ropes out and it worked very well. The 30 foot version is easier to workout on than the 40 foot because you're moving less rope during the exercise. Adding the 30 foot version gives our clients another option to try if the 40 foot rope is too difficult for them to use; it was perfect for that role. I do believe we'll be adding another 30 foot rope from this brand soon.After our first two 40 minute classes I did notice a small amount of fraying in the rope. This is perfectly normal and I'm not worried about it but I thought it was something you should know. The hand grips at the end of the rope feel secure but they're smaller than the grips on the GoFit combat ropes. Our clients like these ropes and so do I! I'll be buying more soon.My professional advice for you is if you feel that your arm strength is not very high please consider starting with the 30 foot 1.5 inch thickness. If you feel that you're pretty strong I would consider the 40 foot 1.5 inch thick ropes for a more challenging workout. I do not recommend the 2 inch thick ropes unless you're very advanced in your strength and technique. Using a thicker rope will force your arm to engage more of your forearm muscles because your fingers won't be able to hold on as well as they can with a thinner rope. I can say this with confidence because the 1.5 inch thick ropes we have are PLENTY difficult for our clients most of whom are extremely fit.I would never recommend anything to you that I wouldn't use for myself and I'm telling you that these ropes are a great and challenging way to advance your fitness level. Our clients love them and so will you!- 11/13/14 update -Our clients liked these ropes so much that we did indeed buy another set. I plan on buying a third set soon because of the success of the first 2. These are great ropes and I highly recommend them.- 7/6/17 update -The clients have been using these ropes for 3 years now! These ropes have had the crap beat out of them and they're STILL going strong. I cannot recommend these ropes highly enough!

These ropes are good quality and work well. They are not stiff and you'll get a great workout, mine came with a DVD but you can find lots of good moves on you tube. I'm 5'-7" around 155lbs and the 30' long x 1-1/2" diameter rope is a good size for me. Bigger guys may want to consider a longer/thicker rope but if you've never tried ropes before this size can be very effective-just perform the exercise for longer than 30 seconds and you'll get good results. Its not about how heavy or long the rope is, with the correct technique you'll do just fine with this size. I actually think the longer/thicker ropes are too heavy to use for all the movements, unless you are a big man in great shape already. Great price.

This rope started to fray IMMEDIATELY after ONE use. After contacting Fitness Solutions they gave me a hard time saying it was natural wear and tear. I would expect that after a couple of uses, but the rope started to fall apart after just one use! I highly DO NOT recommend this rope nor purchasing anything from this company!

This rope unraveled from the handle after 2 months of use and the company would not exchange or refund it. They claim that their ropes come with instructions not to hold them by their end caps. I've purchased two ropes here before and there was NOTHING about this. PLUS, I own a gym with many ropes and we use all of them the same way. The only ones I have had issues with are ones I bought from Fitness Solutions. I will never purchase here again nor will I recommend this company to clients and fellow gym owners.

I bought 11 of these ropes for my gym, where they are being used indoors only. After using them only a few months, the majority of the ropes are unusable, completely frayed. The others all have varying degrees of fraying, unraveling, etc. I have used other ropes in the past that have lasted much longer than these. BUYER BEWARE! Do not buy these ropes. And by the way, they refused to refund me or offer me replacement ropes even though they are defective. Judge for yourself. I have attached plenty of pictures.

The photos make it seem like there is so much length. Even if you were a small person you couldn't get results from these short ropes. Buyer BEWARE! I tried to return them but I have to pay for everything. Might as well make it a toy for my pitbull since I will only be breaking even.

What fun! I carry this 30 ft rope outside, wrap it around the telephone pole and "go to it" in the street using the things I learned from watching the "straight to the point" DVD that was included. I have an elliptical, mini trampoline, kettlebells, treadmill and I don't use them or enjoy them as much as this rope. I have built up stamina since I have had these this past monthh as well as muscle and am finally losing weight. My heart rate goes up (like kettlebells) and I feel SO good for hours later and the next day when I take it out again. I had no idea this would be so much fun.I am over 60 and a female. My husband also enjoys using them - late at night -so the neighbors don't see him whipping the ropes around.

Bought 2 of these ropes after purchasing two from perform better. The picture made them look high quality but the ropes I received were smaller than 1.5 inches, very stiff and prone to kinking up due to the stiffness. After having well made ropes on my studio no way would I mix these in.When I got them ready ship back, I had to pay return postage and on 50 lbs of rope that's $94. So I'd pay 1/2 of what the 2 ropes together cost just to return them. If you want quality fitness ropes, keep looking. There are plenty on the market. Don't make the mistake I did.

Es un muy buen producto por el precio, pero sugiero que en la zona donde se dobla se le agregue algo que la proteja contra raspones ya que se empieza a desgastar muy facil.

No defects present when I opened the box. Quality seems to be great. Great for interval work outs.
