Use this with a phone case, because you could easily overtighten the screw and crack your phone. But it is very secure both at the phone connection and the clip. I wish there was a way to reinforce the back so the weight of the phone didn’t point the camera (slightly) towards the ground.

It’s a little heavy but works well. I used it while hiking Half Dome in Yosemite and it helped me get epic videos and made it easy to grab my phone when checking navigation.

Cheaply made. Spend a little more and get genuine GoPro attachments or at least a better brand. This won’t last long or hold up to abuse. Looks the part, but the minute you hold it in your hands and mount the camera you can tell the quality is subpar. Lesson learned. You get what you pay for.

While this mount is useful for stationary use, it is not acceptable for clipping a phone to a backpack strap, the use for which I purchased it. I tried it a couple of times, and it worked fine. At first. But yesterday I went on a 10-mile hike, and left my phone in the mount so I could use my watch app to take photos without pulling my phone out. But twice the screw that clamps the phone in the mount came loose and my phone crashed to the ground. The second time it broke both the screen and the camera. So do not buy this item to keep a phone available on a hike. I will not use it again.

Is easy to carry

Doesn't wear well, sticks out like a horizontal antenna. Waste of money.

The clip is definitely strong and maybe too strong for some people to even make the jaws open.You really need to use both hands to open the clip.Having said that, I noticed that the holder is not stable when it’s holding some load. In my case, it was my iPhone 11.I used it recently to record a Timelapse video of a hike and mounted my camera on this clip. The video turned out to be quiet shaky and I felt like all my efforts to find a suitable holder went vain. I also wasn’t confident that my phone will stay put especially in steep areas so I took off the holder in order to avoid losing my phone.While the concept is good, it’s not practical.
