DENTALIFE Small Dog Treat Dental Chew 54 Stick, Pack of 2

My dogs love these and a good price for bill and had this on subscription as a nightly dental chew. But had to stop buying as suddenly one dog started vomiting up after each chew. Not sure why. Likely as they are so soft one bite he swallows and then must get stuck and brings it back up (can’t see how it can be a dental chew as they scoff it in a couple bites)we tried again after a few weeks gap and still vomited up immediately. Used for years so had to stop them.Moved over to the dried fish cubes/sticks as they don’t throw those up and you can hear the crunching so must be better to clean teeth and gums. No problems with fish ones

Having adopted an elderly dog with terrible breath I decided we were going to start a dental regime. He is also pretty grumpy so there was no chance of teeth brushing. He is a bit of a finicky eater but he likes these and has one after dinner every day. My other dog has a tendency to gobble things so I worry about him choking so I am glad of the hole through these although he does chew them rather than gobble. These are cheaper than the competitors too and like others I think that the texture might be better for tooth cleaning. So we will keep going with one a day and hopefully the breath situation will improve. He is also on a water additive which promises to soften the plaque, and the idea is that these chews would then scrape it off. We shall see! Since he’s also on the skinny side and it’s hard to get him to eat, I don’t mind the extra 80 kcals in these.

So these were not what I expected; being used to the much harder dental chews (here's looking at you pedigree chum!), I thought these would be similar, but different shape; what actually arrives is something that looks more like reconstituted toilet roll tube! relatively light, soft, but i've given them a go, and the dogs like them. My dogs have good oral hygiene so can't really say whether they've made an improvement, but I like a vary what the girls chew on, and these haven't caused any stomach issues.

All I need to call my dog in is the word Dentalite and if that's not a good advert for the product. He loves them.
