Joseph Bologne Le Chevalier de Saint-George: The first black classical composer a.k.a. the black Mozart (a black history book for children) Paperback – October 3, 2020

I bought this book for my seven year old niece and I had a read through myself first before I gave it to her. I must say I am really IMPRESSED! This is a great introduction for elementary aged children to the extraordinary Joseph Boulogne, the Knight of Saint-George's. Very, very good read. I actually read it twice. Very informative! My niece loves it and cannot stop saying thank you. My sister told me my niece doesn't stop talking about it to her friends.

An introduction to history that instill pride in young black minds, historians and musicians. Age and language appropriate for young readers and a "aha!" moment for older readers of history.

Purchased for my grandson but read it first so that we could discuss. Enjoyed

This Children’s Book has mostly blank pages. This book is not really a book it's more like booklet. It is not worth the money. I am returning it.

This book is so inspiring! It is informative and written in a simple and child friendly way! I think its amazing that an 8 year old has written such a fantastic book. My young children enjoyed reading the book and the colourful illustrations sparked conversations and learning points. Everyone needs to know about Joseph Bologne and the talented man he was! This book is a welcome addition on our bookshelf and you need a copy on yours too! A must have book!

I brought  this book for my 7 year old son, this book was easy for him to read and understand, my other 2 sons age 2 and 6 enjoyed looking at the pictures  as well as listening to the story. This book gives you some of the history about a Man named Joseph Bologne le chevalier de saint George;  a very talented man with many skills,  the first black classical  composer also know as the black Mozart. What I love most about this book is that it was written by an 8 year old, which I think is really impressive, I believe this is an inspiration to other children, to want to use their gifts and talents.  I gave the book 5 stars since I think it is  important for other children to learn about their history, this book is suitable for boys and girls any school age.My sons comments was, this book takes you back in time and he said the book looks so neat... :)

What an awesome, beautifully illustrated, easy to read and very informative book! My 6 year old son genuinely enjoyed reading this book( which is now one of his favourite books) ! He was also really impressed that it was written by an 8 year old and felt so inspired! Would definitely recommend. Fantastic read!

This book was written by an 8-year-old. Amazing! It is well-written and researched. I learned a lot about Joseph Bologne. Well done to the young author.
