If you're an IKEA shopper, then you've probably seen their Branas version of this foldable wicker storage bin. It's a classic IKEA item that has been around for years. When I compared the two different brands of storage bins, they are almost identical, except for the dimensions. These Niche Cubo storage bins are sized to fit into the Cubo storage system. The very similar, but slightly larger, storage bins from IKEA are sized to fit their own Kallax/Expedit storage systems.These Niche Cubo bins assemble quickly. It's simply a matter of unfolding the bin, popping in the bottom piece, and twisting the metal tabs. Once assembled, it is very sturdy. There are two built-in handles to make them easier to move. If the bin isn't needed, it can be collapsed to save on storage space.If I were ignoring the price, I would rate these as a 5 star item. However, as of the time of this review, a set of 2 is just under $50, making them about $25 each. I can buy the almost identical (but slightly larger) Branas bin at IKEA for $13 each. If you already own the Niche Cubo storage furniture and need this smaller size, then it makes sense. But if you don't mind having a slightly larger bin and need to stick to a budget, make a trip to your local Scandinavian-founded furniture store.

This is a foldable wicker storage box. Fully assembled, it measures approximately 12”x12”x12”, with an open top and handle holes on 2 opposites sides near the top. Inside diameter is approximately 10.25”x10.25”x10.25”. The cube has plastic hinges on the sides that allow it to fold flat into a piece that measures approximately 24”x12”x2”. To assemble it, you unfold the sides so that the walls are square, then drop the bottom down from the top. The bottom piece rests on metal clips on 2 sides, and 2 more metal clips can be slipped into place from the frame itself to hold the bottom securely. The construction appears to be solid pieces of wood around the edges, with woven wicker in between.I find this cube very useful for storing and carrying my craft supplies. It holds quite a bit and provides a lot sturdier protection than a cardboard box. It’s also quite decorative. Plus, you can fold it flat if you’re not using it. If you got several of these, you could probably stack them, either one on top of the other or side by side with open sides. Overall, this is a very useful storage piece.

This seems to be a well-made, solid wicker storage basket. It comes in two pieces (the main body, which collapses, and the bottom, which you have to put in and lock down). There are no instructions for putting in the bottom piece as far as where the metal tabs go, so you have to study it a bit to figure it out (I think I did it right, but maybe not😂). It is a perfect cube, which means it's pretty deep and you'll need to dig a bit if you put smaller stuff in it, but it's meant to fit the Niche storage system.This is a solid storage option that doesn't look thin and cheap like some wicker baskets I've seen (it also, so far, hasn't shedded pieces everywhere, which is a very good thing). It's very nice.

Whether you want something lightweight for storage or something more decorative for magazines and such, the Niche Cubo Foldable Wicker Cube fits the bill. It is shipped collapsed and you simply unfold it in the shape of the cube, place the bottom piece with the tabs on the top side so they stop when they hit the bottom of the inside of the cube, where you turn and tighten two tabs with a small screwdriver to hold the bottom in place. Assembly takes all of 5 minutes.The Cubo is made of natural wicker or bamboo and has been lightly coated with some type of varnish. It really looks nice under an end table in the living room with magazines in it. You could do many things with it for accents in various places n your home. It has no funky smells to it, and has a nice light color in the natural materials. It's a bit smaller than the size of a milk crate. (Not big enough for LP records.) It looks like it's made to last a while.
