CAP Barbell Doorway Chin Up Bar

I bought this to support a grooming sling for my 12 lb. dog, wanted bar removable and it didn’t have to support a lot of weight. Per description it is for lighter weight human use. I can’t speak to human use that it was designed to do, but works well for the purpose I intended, easy to install and remove between uses. Sturdy bar for grooming sling and inexpensive.

Great product, easy to set up and start using. The instructions could be a little clearer, but it was ok. I already had holes on the door frame from a previous bar, if you don't, you may need to use a drill.

does develop a bend in it from hanging if your up to 200 lbs. but the attachment points feel sturdy and the combination or screwed-in, cupped holders on side as well as the added pressure exerted when you twist the rod to wedge even tighter to the end plates and door jamb makes it feel more stable.

I got this product delivered a few weeks ago and it even came early, but I waited to install it a few weeks until my dad was able to make it over to help me. When we opened the box it came in, we got the bar and ONE wall mount piece and NO screws. I could have even bought different screws had I had BOTH wall mount pieces but I don’t. I’d rather have my entire product delivered a day or two late rather than only a couple pieces of it early and the whole thing be useless.

I was looking for a pull up bar for my 9 and 10 year old boys. For my purpose, this thing is great and its cheap! For what I paid, I feel I got what I was expecting. This bar is lightweight and with me using at (185lbs) it feels ok but definitely flexes, if I was pushing 210+ I dont think id trust it. All in all I feel i got what I paid for.

I used different screws than the ones supplied. They def would still work but im close to the "max weight" so I didn't want there to be any issues. But if you install this as the directions say and make sure ya make the bar tight you'll have ZERO PROBLEMS. I weigh prob 205 and this thing was solid.What else I like is it comes with these small rubber single screw holders if you want to do sit ups at the bottom of your door. Very smart design.As you can see regular over the molding type no screw pull up bars won't work in my house. My house is an older style. Built for smaller ppl I think lol. But I really like this pull up bar. If I have any issues I will come back and edit my review

The description says it can fit into the 36" door frame - this is false. See attached pictures, to fit it into the 36" you have to overextend the bar past the MAX marks and the bar starts to flex dangerously after that.You can put some spacers out of 3/4" plywood, this will give you 1.5" back so bar will be a little sturdier, but it will still flex. The max extension where the bar is save to use I would say is 33" so you will need 2 spacers out of 2x4" and you will have to use your own bolts as bolts supplied are too short.
