Slow Feed Hay Ball Large

I'm so glad I bought this slow feed hay ball for my horse. He loves it, and moves it all over his stall and runout getting at the hay packed inside. While I do feel it's pricey, it's been wonderful for him - and now others in the barn have bought them also.

My donkeys were unsure of it at first but once they realized hay was in it they love it! and now they roll it around all over their pasture!

Great slow feeder fun for horse! Very good construction and fits almost an entire large flake of orchard grass. Please make a bigger one!!!!

Really great product and the horses love it it keeps them occupied and they can eat a little bit at a time like in the natural state, love it !!

The ball works great as a slow feeder and our horse loves it.

My horse got his lower jaw stuck in one of the holes. It was very hard to get the ball off as the plastic is super thick. A very had to be called. Luckily he did not break his jaw. I emailed the company (high country plastic) twice and have not heard back from them

The media could not be loaded.  Very happy with this and planning to get a few more. It's easy to load up with hay, I can fit a single flake/section into it. It takes me less than 5 minutes to load. It takes my mare 1-2 hours to empty it. It's very heavy duty. When mud season arrived I started putting it in a big empty stock tank and she mostly leaves it in there. At first she walked it around the paddock which was great because it felt like it mimicked grazing well. After a few weeks she has figured out that she doesn't have to chase it (see picture from when she thought she had to attack it) to get the hay out and now she stands in one spot picking the hay out. This was a great solution for us to provide on the ground slow feed that is halter safe (she is required to wear her halter in the paddock). It is quite painful to me to watch her pulling the hay out because it really is SLOW FEED. She works so hard just to get one little stick of hay. But that is the point after all. One of her favorite things is when I stand with her and tug small handfuls of hay so they are sticking out of the hole so she can get a nice mouthful. That's fun bonding time for us, she nickers encouragement and nudges my hands.

Outrageously fun color! This sturdy ball is big, easy to fill with hay, and my two silly donkeys just LOVE it! They are entertained rolling it around everywhere (although it comes with an optional tough strap for securing the ball to a stall or corral). This is a fantastic, exciting ball for donkeys!
