Semroc Flying Model Rocket Kit Orbital Transport KV-66

In 1973 I had an original Estes Orbital Transport... The design is a work of art... Beautiful to look at and beautiful in flight. Unfortunately I lost mine to a very hungry Elm Tree. 46 years later I can finally build one again and fly it to my heart's content.

I have an original still in the bag, and now this one. Eventually, I hope to build both. One to fly, and one to display. Have always been fascinated with this Estes kit. It's far out.

Pros:The assembled rocket looks amazing! A delightful piece to display.Challenging to build. Great for more advanced hobbyists.Cons:Not what I ordered. Originally ordered the Estes version, and the Semroc one shows up. Now, I can’t even find the Estes one on Amazon, and order history says I ordered the Semroc one. Not cool Amazon!Very cheap materials. All the Balsa pieces are the worst quality I’ve ever seen. While it looks awesome, I’m afraid to fly it.Extremely poor assembly instructions. Parts page lists part by a letter, while instructions show parts as numbers. Multiple times I had to guess at how it should go because the instructions just skipped vital steps.Overall:Fun and challenging to build, but the poor instructions and cheap materials rank this as: DO NOT BUY SEMROC BRAND
