I am so happy with my purchase. It's so easy now and convenient to eat apples! This slicer works great. Slices them up and removes the core perfectly. I eat more apples now because of this slicer and corer.

John Chapman (AKA Johnny Appleseed) would have been delighted to own a device like this. This puppy works slicker than snot on a doorknob! So far, it feels sturdy and quite sharp. But then, it's brand new. In any case, it cuts quick and clean. I got the 16-slice model rather than the 8-slice ((don't know if it's made in a 12-slice version). The thinner slice seems to eliminate my urge to knife out an additional divot of core from each slice. The best part, of course, is the hinged grey safety cover (you know, the part that looks kinda like the rubber flapper in your toilet tank). You don't cut your thumb pushing the slices the rest of the way out, or get all apple slimy pulling the core all the way through. They just sorta pop out like magic. So do yourself a favor, spend the extra few bucks and get yourself one of these. You'll thank me for the recommendation.

I bought the PrepWorks Dishwasher Safe Apple Slicer and Corer – 16-Slice Thin Apple Cutter with Safety Cover after our old slicer's handle finally gave out. This one looks almost identical to the last one we had, which lasted a few years, so I figured it was worth a try. With the 13% discount, the price felt more than fair for what you get. The first time I used it, I was happy with how cleanly it cut through a firm Honeycrisp apples. You do have to press down with steady pressure, especially on larger apples, but once it goes through, it makes a satisfying crunch and leaves you with 16 even, thin slices. That’s honestly my favorite part. The thinner pieces are perfect for our toddlers. They’re easier for little hands to hold and safer to chew. I’ve also used it to prep apples for pies, and the uniform slices bake evenly, which saves me time. It feels sturdy in your hand, and the safety cover is a nice touch when it’s in the drawer. Cleanup is simple. I’ve run it through the dishwasher several times and it comes out spotless. If I had one small complaint, it’s that very large apples, like some of the cosmic crisp, won't fit. But overall, it’s a solid, practical tool that does exactly what we need it to do.

Ive found myself trying to eat healthier this year, and apples are one of my favorite fruits. I love slicing them for dipping in something like peanut butter, but that takes me a while with a knife. This bad boy does it much more quickly! It won't save you on dishes since a knife is easier to clean and you'll honestly still need the cutting board as a surface to use this on. But it will save you time for sure. It seems relatively durable, and the handle is serviceable. The blades were incredibly sharp when it was new, but after some uses they are expectedly kinda dull. The hinge holding the base on is also pretty worn out, and the closing the base on the apple to finish the cut will also bruise the bottom of each slice because of the narrow plastic piece in each cutout. The biggest issue with something like this is going to be the blades getting too dull to use, and I'm not sure the blades themselves are easily replaceable. They sure won't be sharpened easily (if at all.)

I am 85 years old. I have been using apple corers and slicers for many years and have gone through several of them. Not that I'll have too many years left to use this one :), but it's the BEST one I ever had. First of all, it slices them just big enough to put in pies and other apple desserts, but it has the cover which pushes out the slices that don't get sliced to the bottom. And the bottom also works to protect the blade and protect your fingers when you're rooting around in the drawer for this device. It takes so little to make an 85-year-old happy!!!

Impressed. I wasn’t sure I would have the strength to push slicer through apple. Not a lot of strength in my hands. Have the 16 slices device which is perfect as my husband and I share an apple for lunch. They come out perfectly sliced & core removed. Nice, functional design. Safety cover is a great feature. To help pop the apple slices out and most importantly prevent possible cuts on very sharp blades.

I bought this completely on a whim. I honestly don’t even know why, I think I was just intrigued by the idea of a new little kitchen gadget. But it turned out to be surprisingly fun and easy to use, and somehow I’ve actually started eating more apples because of it. 😂 It’s very easy to use, washes quickly, and doesn’t take up much space in the kitchen. I’m not sure how long the blades will stay sharp, so we’ll see how they hold up over time. I’m also tempted to try it on potatoes. I’m not sure if they might be too hard for it, but I think it could make great potato wedges for roasting. If I ever try it, I’ll update my review and let you know whether that was a brilliant idea or whether I should just stick to apples. For now, I’m very happy with this little gadget!

Lo único es que hay que elegir las manzanas que tengan el corazón exactamente en el centro, si no, no funciona tan bien. Pero fuera de eso es muy bueno y las cuchillas están muy afiladas

works really nicely! i dont use it constantly but ive had it for months? maybe a year now? and have done at least a dozen apples with it and its still working great :D

Best apple slicer ever. Nice and small pieces. Could use as is for apple bars. Way better than 8 slice ones. Quilaity is great. The little flip up part clears the apple with a press. Would buy again and regiment 100%
