A&E Cage 9003223 White Dome Top Bird Cage with 3/4" Bar Spacing, 32" x 23"

This is the second or thrid A&E cage I've purchased throughout the years (I have a 35 year old Yellow Naped Amazon), and will continue to be a customer of theirs.Pardon the blueish hue of the photos...the windows in my apartment are tinted.The cage is well constructed. It arrived well packed, but did have a slight bend in one of the panels. The bend didn't hinder us putting it together and you can't see the bend, so it's no big deal. It's a white powder-coated cage, and it arrived with yellowish-brown stains on it from the packing material, but they cleaned off easily with Comet on a wet sponge, and I always wash down my bird's cages before allowing him to use them anyway. Again, no big deal.It took my husband about an hour to put the cage together, which was a longer than anticipated. Some other cages pop together really quickly and easily with almost no hardware needed. This one required more screws than I anticipated. But again, no biggie.I couldn't get a good photo of it, but one thing that could be a hassle for others is that the notches cut into the ends of the perch to install it were not cut deep enough, so the perch doesn't really fit into the cage. It's in there, but it's not level, and my husband had to jam in with force. We are in a brand new apartement with no tools, so we couldn't easily cut the notches deeper without a saw. This cage only comes with one 1-inch diameter dowel for a perch, but since I'm replacing the dowell with manzanita branches anyway, this is not a deal breaker for me either.The cage is very easy to clean. The white color looks great. I am not using the seed guards, so you won't see them in the photos, but the cage did come with them.I do recommend this cage. My bird likes it too.

I thought this cage seemed very sturdy for my little meyers parrot. He is a chewer and destroyed his other powder coated cage which is a huge safety concern. This cage looked beautiful but had a bent panel. I really needed to get my bird into a new cage for his safety so I did not return it. I’m sure that the panel would have been replaced if I asked. I’m not sure if the issue was that the cage was poorly made or if my bird is just strong and chews the bars too much but it only lasted 6 months. The cage that I replaced before this one, lasted a couple years and had smaller gauge wire (I’m assuming that would be easier to chew through). Disappointing to pay this much for a beautiful cage and needing to replace with expensive stainless steel right away. This cage definitely could work for some birds though.

Packed well, shipped very fast, easy to assemble. Nice size for Galah, she loves it!

I gave 4 stars in the assembly because you do need 2 people but it wasn't hard to assemble at all. Love A&E cages. This is my 3rd and 4th cages of this brand because I keep adding to my flock :) I love the dome top it gives extra room for my amazons to move around and they perch on top of the dome when I have their doors open.

I purchased this cage for my African Grey - he absolutely loves it. It has plenty of space for all of his perches and fun toys. The cage is a nice clean bright white and is built very well. It just looks so much nicer than his previous cage! Happy birdie and owner here...

whoever designed this cage understands parrots who know how to get out of their cages. The latch on the cage door, the latches on the food-service & nest-box doors, the "guard flaps" on the cage door AND on the grid at the bottom, are all unreachable by my Houdini umbrella cockatoo. The guard flap above the cage door even has a triangle of metal welded behind it so he can't reach it to slide it open. That means I no longer have to have to have combination padlocks on ALL his doors-makes it a lot easier to feed him & let him out. Only 2 "dings" against this cage: the perch it came with was so small in diameter (it was just designed for a smaller parrot) that he chewed thru it in a week, so I need to buy another (larger) perch on my own right away. And I wish the bar spacing was wider, so he could see out better, since he's a larger parrot; again, the cage was probably designed with a smaller parrot in mind. That said, this cage is large enough that he can (& does!) stretch out his wings & flap. Another website I saw says they refuse to carry this brand, but I'm so completely happy with this cage I'm planning on buying another one for his sister.

My bird had been in the same cage for 30 years, but he has adjusted to his new larger cage. This cage is well made. The food and water bowls have a door that has them swing out for easy filling or changing. It is easy to keep clean. I like that the cage is above the floor so I can change the paper lining, just pull out the drawer and change paper. No getting on my hands and knees.Directions were understandable and screw holes lined up perfectly. All parts were included and good quality.

I bought this cage for my Sun Conure. It is very attractive and provides ample space. No bird cage is easy to clean, however, if a cleaning product specific for bird cages is used, daily cleaning is not much of a problem. In general, I am very happy with this cage!
