Excellent quality
Great piece of wood! Easy to carve, no damage, perfect grain.Its hard to find larger pieces of basswood so Im glad I found this listing, most are packs of very small pieces for little wittling figures or animals which I dont do.For those that mentioned the price - this is a good deal, but the price of wood in general everywhere has raised.... It isn't this sellers fault!

Soft block.
Its a block of wood what else can I say. except that its soft to cut through

Very hard!
As far as lumber goes? This is excellent wood.I wake up each morning and BAM! Wood! I'm not the only one impressed, the missus is pretty impressed too.If you need wood, this is it!

Good wood, but pricey for what it is
Good wood, but pricey for what it is. It's not a great block for beginner carvers. But all in all, it's a decent piece of wood.
