Not Entirely Suitable for RG142
I used these to make RG142 jumpers. Not sure I’d recommend their use with RG142. Mainly because the inside diameter of the crimp sleeve that fits over the shielding is too small to accommodate RG142. I had to thin the braid with scissors and use a lot of effort to push the sleeves over the braid. If used with RG142, remove 1 1/8” of outer jacket. Then remove all but 5/16” of shielding braid. Next remove all but 1/2” of inner insulator. Slip the heat shrink tubing, then the crimp sleeve, and the connector barrel onto the cable. Make sure the barrel faces the right way. Fan out the 5/16” of braided shielding. Then slip the connector body over the prepared cable keeping the 5/16” of braid outside the ferrule, and solder the connector’s center pin to the cable’s inner conductor. (An earlier version of these connectors seems to have had pins for the inner conductor. What I received did not.)Carefully thin the braided shielding with scissors until you can force the crimp sleeve over it and the ferrule of the connector body. I crimped the sleeves with a .213 die. It required so much strength to complete a crimp that I strongly doubt the manufacturer’s statement that these are crimped with a smaller die.In the end, the jumpers came out fine. Although the barrels on the connectors are floppy and loose when the jumpers are disconnected, they function alright when connected.

They work just fine.
I need these female 239s to make 2 much needed common mode chokes. Twelve turns of RG58 around a FT240-43 ferrite toroid core were used for each and they are very effective. One common criticism I saw was that no instructions were included - so here you go. Refer to photos.1) Place one colar and one piece of shrink tube over your RG58. Push them down out of the way for later.2) Strip back about 3/4 in of outer insulation being careful to leave the stranded shielding intact.3) Trim the shielding so only about 3/8 in remains.4) Trim back inner insulation to ALMOST the stranded shielding you just trimmed. A little inner insulation should remain visible between the exposed shielding and center conductor.5) Trim back center conductor, leaving about 3/16 in. Tint center conductor lightly.6) Solder on the the center conductor pin, included.7) Slide on 239 connector, making sure all stranded shielding remains outside the knurled portion of connector. Firmly seat the 239 connector onto the RG58.8) Slide on the silver collar (you placed on the cable earlier) over the stranded shielding/knurled portion.9) Test your connetions with a multimeter to make sure there are no shorts and center conductor tests good all the way to other end of cable.10) Crimp on colar. Slide shrink tube, placed on cable earlier, over assembled unit and heat. Done.I hope this helps others. All parts (not tools of course) were included and I would recommend.

They get the job done but fiting the cabe takes a bit of trial and error.
I get good connections but have to fiddle a bit to get everything to fit properly. Not sure I can blame the connectors, it could be the type of coax I'm working with.

No Instructions come with these connectors, nor any striping information for coax!!!!
No Instructions come with these connectors, nor any striping information for coax!!!!What are the small gold pins for??? anyone have coax striping information please post it for me and others.thanks

Good deal on connectors but...
Good deal on connectors but I wish they came with clear instructions. How easy would it be to put a piece of paper in with these that has a web address of an instructional video? Yes connectors are all very similiar but they should come with specific instructions for THESE connectors to insure they have all pieces facing in the right direction and the measurements for coax cutting and shielding installation is right.

Great connectors!
I did jumpers same night!

Great material no issues
Great material for the price, highly recommend.

Easy to assemble
These connectors are easy to assemble and use a soldered centre pin that is captive to the connector's centre conductor. The solder pin makes for a foolproof attachment and provides for correct cutting length of centre conductor and shield/braid. I'd caution on the assembly of LMR195 cable to make absolutely sure that the foil shield is completely removed from the area around the centre pin. It's easy to have a shield-centre short if you're not careful.
