Disappointed
Like all prym hooks, this hook is comfortable to hold, ergonomic, light weight, unlike prym hooks, the yarn does not slip over the shaft very easily. It gets stuck as if the yarn is encountering resistance. But to the touch, the shaft feels smooth with no burrs or nicks. I don’t understand why the yarn does not move easily over the shaft? Tried Vaseline on it twice in attempt to lubricate the shaft. This worked for about 10 mins, but the yarn sticking to the shaft returned. At best, the Vaseline only eased it slightly. I would rub Vaseline on it, leave the hook for an hour, then wipe it of. The hook was so annoying to use, I reverted back to my old hook. Problem is my old hook is made of steel, so I’m limited to how long I can use, before my wrist becomes sore.I’ve only encounter this problem of yarn sticking with this hook. All my other prym hooks 5-12mm work as expected. Only the 4.5mm has this problem. Therefore I would not recommend this size to anyone, neither would I purchase this size again. Just placed an order for clover amour in both sizes 4.00 & 4.5mm , as any size smaller than 4.5mm the plastic/acrylic shaft has a tendacy to snap according to the reviews, hence, why I did not purchase the set of the smaller size prym, but decided to purchase the sizes I needed individually.Really disappointed with prym as this tends to be a problem with this size. I also purchased 5.00 & 6.00mm hooks at the same time & they seem to work fine. Have used the 6.00 hook already to make a baby blanket.

Wool/loops stick yo hook&are difficult to wirk
I was really looking forward to trying this hook, as it was very different to my usual style. However, I found that although the longer handle was comfortable to hold, the stitches(or wool) seemed to stick to the plastic of this hook. I tried washing it, incase something was causing the sticky Ness, but it made no difference. Although I liked the size, shape and feel of this hook, I think I will stick to using either the metal kinds, or the wooden ones in the future.

Nice hooks but squeaky
I love the size of the handle and the easy of use, particularly if you crochet with a pen grip. The only real issue is being plastic they tend to squeak with acrylic yarn and not be anywhere near as smooth as metal hooks. Worth a try for the ergonomic aspect, but I don't think I'll be buying any more as it really slowed me down

Sticky Plastic
Of course this hook is beautifully crafted, but unfortunately, the one I received would not allow myyarn to slip easily to crochet with. In fact it was so sticky that I couldn't use it at all... I was crocheting withpremium acrylic yarn, yet even using pure wool (with the extra potential lanolin) didn't do the trick.. maybethis was a one off... very disappointed as was keen to use this attractive ergonomic hook ....

Great hook but squeaks when using cotton yarn
Love this hook. Its comfy to hold and light and to start with was a joy to use.It has started squeaking now when I use it with cotton yarn though which is very off putting and leads to my crochet session being a bit stressy instead of relaxing. Fortunately I very rarely need a 4.5 hook.
