Typical excellent Daiwa at a phenomenal price. Smooth, consistent, great balance. #6 Berkeley Trilene and your ready to go! I have 4 different series from Daiwa, and this is able to hang with reels twice the price from Daiwa.

Very smooth, but the handle was kind of clunky
It’s a great budget reel for sure. It reels great and the 2000 pairs nice with a 6’6”+ medium to medium- light rod, but the handle wasn’t machined precisely enough, so the handle clunks, other than that good reel.I use it paired with a 6’9” medium-light 13 fishing defy gold, and I throw my Texas rigged worms and my Ned rigs on it. It’s a great combo .

Replacing some discontinued Shimano 1000s. Parts aren't available, so I went to Daiwa. Mounted them on gloomis bass rods.

Bail spring broke already
I have a lot of Daiwa gear between rods and reels. The Laguna 2000 is one of my favorite ultra light fishing reels. I paired it with 6lb test braid and a 6'6" ultralight rod. It worked flawlessly up until about a week ago so less than 6 months of use and more like 4 months of weekly use and the bail spring broke inside. I was lifting the bail arm up to cast and I heard it snap. The bail arm would not retract and just flopped there. I am taking it into a shop to get the spring replaced but not a good start for the Laguna. I have some of the mid tier reels that have had no issues so this is my first daiwa reel failure. More to come.

cheap drag
cheap drag system is not smooth. only 1 felt washer 1 steel washer. most spinging reels have 3 .

Excelente carrete
Compacto, en excelente condición, reemplazo un carrete igual que regalé a un amigo que salía de pesca y se averió su equipo.Lo recomiendo por su buen y suave frenado sin mucho dinero
