Review The third installation in the most successful tribute album series ever, The Blackest Album 3: An Industrial Tribute To Metallica!Far and away the most brutal of the series featuring industrial remakes of Welcome Home (Sanitarium), Leper Messiah, The God That Failed, King Nothing, Harvester Of Sorrow and many more!Appearances by the best in underground industrial music including Razed In Black, Funker Vogt, Godeater, Neotek, Transistorhythm and several others!Full service to press and radio! When Cleopatra Records released the first industrial tribute to the gods of metaldom, Metallica, in 1998, who could have known that, just three years later, the incredible success of both The Blackest Album 1 and 2 would become a bona fide phenomenon? Well, we did!Working off one of the most devout (and discriminating) fanbases in all of modern music, The Blackest Album series gained a wide acceptance amongst established Metallica fans and even brought some new black sheep into the fold. By unleashing the kinetic fury of today s most twisted underground industrial/EBM pioneers on the entire Metallica catalog, these tribute albums have achieved that rare distinction of being both an homage of things past and an enthralling vision of sounds to come. --Cleopatra Records

Three Stars
Not as good as I thought the Blackest Album series would be.

Its not as Good as the first one
This one lacks in intensity.the best track on here is Razed in Blacks version of "sanitarium".They stuck with the origional song....Its even complete with the guitar solo. This album blows the 2nd blackest alnum out of the water though. If your looking for something New and different than get the Blackest album Vol.1,But if you already have that one and liked it,youll probably enjoy this one.

Techno, Black Music
This is the third album in the series of "The Blackest Album" tributes to Metallica. The album contains only black music & techno style, therefore, it doesn't even sound like Metallica, if you want a tribute that has metal music - this one ain't for you. This album isn't the type to hear when you drive in your car or something like that, but it would be great if you're having a party & want people to dance & move!

Excellent cover album
I never thought I would like any covers of Metallica, since the ones i did hear all SUCKED!!! But, I figured, why not give it one more try? Turns out, there are bands who do know how to cover these guys... Trust me, even if you only like techno/electronica, or just think Metallica sucks, give this album a listen; you might just wanna go out and buy the other three as well...

NOT AS GOOD AS VOLS 1, 2 & 4! VERY TECHNO SOUNDING.....
Have to say of the 4 volumes (of which I have them all), this is the most dissapointing. Only 3 tracks stood out for me; Sanitarium by Razed In Black, Leper Messiah by The Excessories (the only track with really harsh, almost Black Metal style vocals) and the admittedly, superb cover of Orion by Transmutator.Probably the main reason this falls down a bit is many of the covers are from the Load/Reload era which sadly, in this case, fail to translate well into Industrial waters. A lot of the tracks kind of sound the same and unlike the other volumes, there's little that's actually heavy/guitar orientated - the emphasis here seems to be on a very Hard Dance/Techno style, unlike, say, Ministry with their metallic leanings. To be honest, Front Line Assembly do this stuff better!Fans of Rave/Dance/Techno will take to this more than most Metal fans unless the Metal fan is REALLY open minded.I would say to buy the overall excellent vols 1, 2 & 4 first of all, then vol 3 last. It's worth getting to complete the set, and for the superb take on Orion.
