Alittle Hot at Full Power, but Holds True to the Specs
This 24V to 12V DC-DC Converter has proven to be a reliable solution for my power conversion needs in my portable power station. One of the important features for me is its waterproof design, which provides peace of mind when using it in various environments, particularly outdoors with rivers/lakes/boats.On the positive side, the converter consistently delivers stable and efficient power, which is crucial for my electronics. It handles a substantial load with ease, making it suitable for high-power applications under the specs of 360 Watts. The very compact size and build are additional plus points, as they ensure durability and make installation pretty straightforward. However, there are a few drawbacks to consider here with this little unit. The unit can get quite warm/hot under heavy load, so I would add adequate ventilation to prevent overheating. This is you plan on running it a lot. Mine never gets hot under the general use it gets. Only when I stress test it at full wattage for over 30+ minutes. Additionally, while this unit is generally reliable, the absence of detailed instructions might pose a challenge for folk who are not familiar with electrical installations. Ensuring correct wiring and setup is essential to avoid potential issues. Electric fires are no fun.Overall, if you need a dependable step-down converter for your 24V to 12V needs, this product is a strong contender for its low price point. Just be prepared to manage its heat output and ensure you have a basic understanding of electrical connections. Its performance and durability make it worth considering for all types of projects like my DIYs.

Lead Acid to Lithium Golf cart upgrade
This is a great value product that works well stepping down my 48v golf cart to 12v to support the lights. Easy to install and works well with my 48v lithium battery.

Stepped down a 36v lifepo4
Used this to step down a single 36v lithium battery used for my trolling motor to wire in a charger on my dash. Worked great I’m very happy. Doesn’t get hot was super easy to install (love the wire clips those are cool) and was way smaller than I was anticipating.

Bad instructions / Seller resolved issue
The instructions did not match the sticker on the unit. I wired per the sticker first and got a big arc connecting the 48V neg with no load or draw on the 12v side. Switched and wired per instructions and got a bigger arc. I don’t trust this at all.UPDATE: I received a message from the seller who said to go by the sticker for installation. The first unit was fried, and they sent a replacement. Same issue, conflicting installation instructions vs sticker on device. I installed per the sticker and it works great. I also installed a switch on the 48v side so I can reduce any phantom current when not in use.

If you need one, this is great
I was replacing a 12 V battery for my electrified reclining trike with a 24 V from a buddy, needed the step down. Simple to hook up, works great.

Dependable
I run a 24vdc electrical system in my motorhome so I have several of these. I have both 20a and 30a spares as I'm full time in the motorhome. The only time I've needed a spare is when I do something stupid. There are 2 ground wires for both line in and load. While you can connect these together and the unit will work it is better to keep the separate, the load side (+ & -) should be separate to whatever you're powering. I measured a 30 ohm difference between line in and load grounds. Although, as I said, it will work fine either way.
