Excellent customer service!
final update: i received a replacement torch from yitelle, and it works perfectly. i suppose with these kinds of mass produced items, there's always bound to be a few that somehow get past QC. but the seller was really good about keeping me in the loop on every step of the replacement process. they told me they were a small, family-operated business, so it's great to see that they stand behind their product, and really delivered on their promise to make my satisfaction their top priority.**************update: the seller reached out to me after i posted my initial review and offered to make things right. if nothing else, at least the customer service is good. but i will wait to see whether my replacement unit actually works or not before passing final judgement. keeping my fingers crossed.**************...impossible to fill. i'm not even talking about a re-fill, but the initial fill-up. and i read a lot of reviews and even watched a few youtube videos on how to fill theses torches - turn the unit upside down, line up the nozzles, apply downward pressure, etc. well, i did all that and the very first attempt, butane spilled/leaked out everywhere. when i tried again, i noticed there was no resistance against my butane can nozzle. apparently, the torch's fill nozzle "sunk" into the unit, after ONE attempt... that's terrible (non-existent?) quality control. now i have a dead unit, and my living room smells like butane. time to contact amazon for a refund....

Unable to get it to consistently stay on...this company has been excellent in resolving my problem!
Ordered a few months ago but didn't attempt to use it until today. Seems as if it is filling, but no fluid seen in level. Then I turn it on, it has an uneven flame and stays on for maybe one min. I have tried and tried and cannot get it to behave any differently. I am thinking maybe I have a defective unit. I really cannot properly rate it as I have not gotten it to work correctly.Updated 7-24-16 in addition to the above, this morning I tried again and now unable to get the flame to shut off. Now convinced it must be a defective unit. It is not safe to use and I will not try again. I wrote to Yitelle and a waiting to hear back from them. Will post further after response from the company.

Great torch with refueling issues on my unit
Torch itself functions great & stays relatively cool with somewhat prolonged use. That being said, it's horrible in the refilling department, on my unit at least. Per the instructions, you're supposed to stop filling it the first time you get any fuel blow back.. which in my case was never allowing me to fill it more than half way (only a third most of the time) according to the gauge on the tank, which was an added bonus not found on most others. Kind of annoying when you just want to fill it completely & be on your way using it without having to refuel again so quickly due to the lack of a fully loaded tank. Solidified my purchasing a torch head & pre-filled butane tanks for sure! No muss, no fuss with that route. Not a bad device, just not consistent enough for my particular use preference.

Great torch for the price.
I was quite impressed with the build quality when I received it - it feels very solid in the hand, which one would hope for in a product as potentially dangerous as a butane torch can be. The gas regulator and ignition seem sturdy and reliable and perform as I would have hoped. My only complaint, which honestly applies to most butane products that I've used, is that it can be a bit finicky to fill. Lining up the nozzle on your fuel canister with the valve on the lighter itself can often lead to a bit of extraneous spraying when re-fueling. This particular torch also seems to refuse to fill any further than about 1/3 full in my experience, but the seller has commented elsewhere that this is some sort of safety feature. All in all this seems to be a fantastic purchase, especially for the price. I intend to use it to apply sears to meats post sous-vide cooking as well as browning smaller dishes that I may not want to toss under a broiler - it seems well suited for that purpose.

Not as safe as it could be and wastes gas
This butane torch is different than every other one I've ever used. Traditionally, the "trigger" is what lets the gas out and also ignites when initially pressed. This model has its own trigger (only for ignition) and a separate dial for the gas. While this has the benefit of being able to control the intensity of the flame, it also has the benefit of being a huge fire hazard. It doesn't shut off when you let go of it. Other torches have this as a manual option you can engage when you need it. This torch just keeps the flame on by default. It also leaves it open for accidental leaks. If you don't really shut it off hard it could leak out entirely. The on/off switch only affects ignition. It can be "off" and still be spewing out butane gas. Other than this design decision I don't agree with, the quality of the torch is good. It ignites every time on the first click.UPDATE: 3 times now I have gone to use it and it was totally empty. It gets used and filled regularly. It you don't really crank the dial closed you'll come back to find all of the gas seeps out. CLOSE IT TIGHT.

I'd pay more for something better
Like other reviews have stated this product does not fill to its full capacity. I've read speculations that fill gauge is the issue, but I do not think this is what is wrong with mine. The fill gauge does indicate that there is butane in the torch. However, the torch will only fill barely below one quarter full. I believe the gauge is displaying the correct amount of fill because it seems as if I am constantly having to refill. Having to constantly refill the torch is annoying and I would pay more money in the future to buy a better product. Other than that the functioning is good and it still works as a culinary torch.
